Crickey! I wish property sales, ie for us lot on here, would move as fast as this thread.:rotfl:
@ Az, Sorry to hear there was offer on your property. Chin up eh? Just giving the hallway doors (all bl##dy 5 of 'em their 2nd coat) But it has brightened the hall up…
When we started sorting out our house to put it on the market, I decided to change the old flush doors into six panel doors that suited the age and style of the house better. They came in ‘white’ but in reality it was a sort of grey. After experimenting with coats of paint I found that I had f f f fifty-five door faces to paint counting each coat! And six panel doors are a huge PITA.

That, plus eaves, guttering and toilet cisterns, is why I am soooo strange now… :)

I’m of mature years, and to me a blackberry :( is something you eat. !!!!!! are you lot talking about? Nokia 1208, sim free PAYG. It’s a phone, and I won’t get mugged for it!

  • I'm visualising lots of FTBs queuing up outside the EAs tomorrow morning desperate to arrange a viewing on my house at the weekend (all of whom will be happy to not have a garage)

FTBs? Do they still exist now days?? Thought they was myth.

well your selling it to me te he

Good luck, its hard to know whats best to do isnt it.

    lol

the last straw re reducing the price was going onto zoopla and seeing that only 11 have sold in the last 3 years in this area. Yes people want to stay but we want to move and so we decided to make it the most attractive re price

We did debate whether we should drop to a fixed price, but here in Scotland and with our particular flat in question we knew we would get silly offers...

plus we also have the deciding factor that of the other 3 flats that have gone up for sale in the same road since we did, the one that is upgraded and all singing and dancing is still on the market as well so we know it's not us....

Very difficult to know what to do but if you want to move quickly it's worth a shot if you can afford to drop the price...

Mo1 wishing you well in your house....We moved out last year and hubby was self employed and had to go abroad with business 2 days before moving, plus I have a long term health condition so couldn't over do it so I can appreciate where you're coming from ;)

though if we haven't sold our flat in 2 years I will consider renting the darned thing...

Yes we can do it as we are old enough and we used our life savings to buy a house so no chain. It`s strange but the moment you decide to sell, the bonds with the house you live in and love, get loose and eventually all you want to do is to move

We are on a pension now but it is surprising how little you need to have a comfortable life, provided your house is good. Anyway, new house is almost 100% energy self sufficient and comes with an allotment. I`ll only have to pay council tax, meat bills and a few other things so tbh enough money really is enough. My old clothes will suffice for digging and that will be my hobby and holidays

Good thing is that our sellers have already moved so we should be able to get out pretty sharpish and get moved in to the new house.

Its been a long road for us getting ready for viewings that havent come to anything but all it takes is 1 person to take the plunge and offer. Its just unfortunate that the market is still slow.

Will come back on once internet is connected in new house and let you know how it all goes!

    Monica

Congrats Monica, great to hear positive news!! :j

Ok, just thinking about all the news, and peeps, it really isn't disastrous, or all doom and gloom really is it? (Cries in corner)

No, seriously, we will all have good days and bad days, and some will be crappy (I've had my fair share as many have) but at least we've got each other to support, and it's great to hear when people do have good news on selling their houses....

POWER TO THE SELLING PEOPLE!!! LOL!

There, that's my 'chin-up' post for mine and everyone else's benefit...gonna go find some chocolate now...

    Welcome!!

Well done on getting it on the market, quite a slog isn't it? Hope the sunshine brings some buyers to everyone's door. :A
