No, I was serious :rotfl:I was! Okay, so you have old mobile phones .... but what's the "sad looking"? I'm *really* confused now :rotfl:

"Okay, so you have old mobile phones" Old? Old? they're not old, I'll have you know they are, erm! very recent & all of 30quid each:eek: I had a flashy one that had a coloured screen etc, but I couldn't see the damn thing in daylight, so I ditched it & gave Adam a call.
"but what's the "sad looking" Now you are taking the wee wee.;)

and for info my phone is elderly compared to most people's...Put it this way if i were to throw it at something it would make a significant noise...:rotfl:

I had a more modern one bought last year from Tesco but unfortuantely it was crap and started giving up the ghost...

So i got another hand me down as is often the case with my mobile phones from my hubby...

Most lenders do accept this as a way of getting as much of their money as they can. Let your Solicitors sort it with the Northern Rock they know how to word it etc for you and thats what your paying them for after all

Thanks, I just wondered if NR could stop the sale if there was a shortfall?
  • if they dont want to accept it then they can say that they want their full money and if that means you have to get a higher asking price or find it from somewhere else then thats what you will have to do. but if you are willing to redeem the mortgage and then put the rest into a personal loan they will normally go for this option
    :p

right!! I am sitting here and my heart is in my mouth after reading about all the folks struggling to get their houses sold. It`s doom and gloom again on the news and the feelgood factor is disappearing. I am thinking that we`ll drop our price, already at a genuine bargain price. We`ve no mortgage and are cheap to keep as we are in our 60s. I`ll just discuss it with dh and may do it this pm. We`ll have enough to live on and that is what matters

edit: done it. It is now 20 k less than it was this morning and that was 65 k less than we paid for it. Now 85k less than 5 years ago. It is a fantastic bargain as it is spotless, in a very lovely location and has 20 k of very good extras. Plus use of 50+ acres of very beautiful grounds

woohoo! Well finally last friday we exchanged and this coming friday is moving day! After 2 years + on the market and the hassle with dh being made redundant, stupid demands off buyers solicitors etc its nice to get to this point. only issue i have now is im 23 weeks pregnant and hubby has found a new job so cant get time off on friday for the move so its me and the removal men! Good thing is that our sellers have already moved so we should be able to get out pretty sharpish and get moved in to the new house.

Its been a long road for us getting ready for viewings that havent come to anything but all it takes is 1 person to take the plunge and offer. Its just unfortunate that the market is still slow.

Will come back on once internet is connected in new house and let you know how it all goes!

Well, to take the plunge and offer and stick with that offer all the way through to exchange and completion!!

(OK so I'm still bitter about my fickle buyer!)

But congrats on getting through the process. I've only been on the market for 6 months - lets hope there isn't another 18 months to go before I can get to completion
  • I'm visualising lots of FTBs queuing up outside the EAs tomorrow morning desperate to arrange a viewing on my house at the weekend (all of whom will be happy to not have a garage)
