I'm sorry there's nothing doing yet, Az, I hope you hear something soon.

I've just had the surveyor around from my buyers - and I've been on the phone to Nationwide for almost an hour about surveying my new place. Turns out the guy who took my mortgage application by phone should have arranged for me to pay for it by credit card. So I've arranged it now, begged the people who are doing it to hurry up because Nationwide made a mistake, and writen an official complaint about the guy at Nationwide - he didn't like me asking about STD codes, I think that got right up his nose, so either he forgot or he was being malicious.

Hoopylass - I've just seen the conversation this morning. If I was looking at moving now, I don't think I would unless I *had* to, the whole market is very creaky, and I'm really not sure we're not going to have a double dip thingy.... if your issue is space, could you try decluttering / packing seasonal things away? I'd even consider renting a lockup for a little while, to see how things go, depending on the money, of course. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks Karmacat, doesn't look like my suffering ends just yet. Just spoke to EA and he's had a message left from the viewers saying they've decided to look in another area altogether....so much for being so keen on Friday.

On a plus, I have two viewings booked with first EA, but not holding my breath as usual :(

oh Az, what rotten luck again

we had a local visitor yesterday evening, all huffing and puffing and excited to have seen that our house was for sale so we said ok come this evening after their work and we would show them around and meantime said to them to look at right move

It only happens that they got their wires crossed and had misheard some ea from another firm say that one was available at 100 k less than we are asking (already 65 k down from 5 years ago). Oh get real, people, do they really think that we would just give away 100 k

    grhhhh, I am learning fast

Well our new EA manager came round this morning to give us the "once-over" & offer his opinion on a couple of matters. One was that because we get the sun at the back from first thing till around 7.30pm, all the rooms get plenty of light via open doors etc except the hall, which even though it is quite large, does look darkish & having the doors & radiator a deepish colour, doesn't help. So he suggested a bright lighter decor for that area. Anyway thanks to a fabulously sunny day, all pictures & measurements were taken & that raised a point that I argued about with our previous EA.

All the bedrooms have wall to wall, ceiling to floor units, & the previous EA took their measurements from the front of the units to the wall. Likewise in both lounges ie taking the measurement from the chimney breast to the wall, even though the width of the chimney breast is not 50% of the entire wall. Apparently if it is 50% or more, the measurement has then to be taken from the chimney breast.

Our new EA said that the first EAs measurements made the room sizes look smaller than they actually are. His measurements were taken from the bedroom units back wall, ie doors open & the lounges from the alcove wall either side of the chimney breast. We should be up & running again by Thursday. The painting required in the hall ???? I started on that the minute he left & he called back later in the day, as he had had to break off for a viewing in the area. He was gobsmacked to see I'd re-painted the rad & had made a start on the 5 doors in the hallway.:rotfl:

Sorry for the long post, I just hope this EA gets us a result.

Good luck to one & all & welcome all newbies to the world of madness.

I hate still having to click this blasted Blackberry.;)

What's happened to these forums then (or should that be fora?)

Looking a little shiny and new although seem to be loading slowly?

Sorry there wasn't an offer Az - hopefully the right people are just around the corner.

For those that know - once you've exchanged contracts can anything go wrong? Am still waiting for something to happen - I think until it's all happened I won't quite believe it:rotfl:

I thought it was my wind-up PC that was at fault.

IMHO the old maxim should be adhered to & that is, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Still a great forum though. Admin, take a bow. :T

We haven’t suffered too much from no-shows and cancels. The vast majority of our viewers have been local though, and typically spend 20 to 30 minutes viewing. Not much of a commitment on their part is it? They’d be back home by the time the charcoal gets going!

:( sadly you are so right there. perhaps i should mention the warming up time of charcoal to my EA so he can advise the potential / cancelling viewers!! :rotfl:

Spiral, I've had so many no-shows and cancellations, usually all on a weekend, it is unreal - some people are just downright rude and inconsiderate, yet, as we're sellers, we just have to grin and bear it. Wish they'd have the courtesy to let us know though, would save a wasted few hours/day.
    Az

quite. i've never been late or cancelled or not turned up for any viewings i've ever gone to. i just dont get it when people do it to us, dont they care when people do it to them??? if we all just didnt do it then we'd all be happier!
