Can i join in here please???
Seriously thinking about selling my 1 bed flat in scotland...just had 1st of 3 valuations and im in a bit of a quandry. I bought the flat in 2005 for £61k. Flat was valued at 53K but we have this rediculous system of offers over.
At the time I took out a 100% mortgage as I had no deposit and my current situation meant I had to move asap and had no time to save for one.
Sooooo now im being told that another identical flat in the stree same condition (no double glazing tho) is valued at 65k on the home report and this is what i should look to get.
What do I do?? Do I sell and not make much money and therefore not have very much to put down on a bigger house or do I stay and wait 2/3 years and try and sell again.
How will not having much towards a new property affect my mortgage application as technically I wont have much of a deposit...im confused lol.Total DebtWas £4145.81now £0.000 -
hoopylass, I think you need to find some way to be content in your present home. Selling and buying and moving is SO expensive. It isn`t worth it for you0

I am very content in my house, I love it to bits just wish that it was a bit bigger and had a 2nd bedroom, its just im quite far from family and friends and would love to be closer to them.
Im also coming to the end of my 5 year fixed rate mortgage so hence reason that I thought I would move.Total DebtWas £4145.81now £0.000 -
About to reply on this thread this morning and it's all changed...:rotfl:thought I'd stumbled on a different forum...
No news on our front....All 4 of us with flats in the same road still sitting like ducks...:rotfl:
Solictor's assistant rang on Friday but didn't catch me but the fact she didn't leave a messages suggests no news...:(0 -
could you not just remortgage the house with a little extra and build an extension onto it, save a lot of hassle selling it just because yoru mortgage term is up

Hi,
I have an O/S mortgage of 85k on my house but just had an offer for 80k. The house has been up for sale for a few months and we really need to sell asap. Has anyone had any experiences with dealing with Northern Rock when their is a shortfall? Will they accept the offer and let me pay back the shortfall as a loan?
Any help much appreciated.0 -

Most lenders do accept this as a way of getting as much of their money as they can. Let your Solicitors sort it with the Northern Rock they know how to word it etc for you and thats what your paying them for after all

Hi all, and welcome to the newbies...nothing to report on my end, after a few sleepless nights, rung the agent who has said there's nothing to report as yet. He rung and left messages for the viewers on Fri. He did try to get them to commit to making an offer on Fri, but they wanted to speak to their FA, and that was the last of it. No idea if there will be any news later..fingers crossed if I know either way, it'll stop the wait lol...me not very patient when it comes to these sort of things...
