Thanks. I might be a bit stuck there as only lived in this area 18 months, and dont know anyone still, but will start ploughing around to see what I can do! If it was just me I'd suck it up and sit it out, but its the kids bless em,I thought it would get easier as time went along but my 5 and 3 yr olds are really sad alot of the time missin their dad n brother. OH went and saw MA yesterday just to make sure there was no other way we were missing to get us down there, but there isnt. We tried every way possible but knowing our luck, there are risks we just cant afford to take. Oh well. At least the weather is good!0

Has anyone tried extra promotion like putting cards in shops/windows etc? Im very tempted, even though I know I would still have to give EA the money, at least its worth a try? What do you think? Anyone have any other ideas?
Before being in agency work I was in a serious marketing role within which I had the mentally that anything is worth a try. Especially anything that only costs your time and not too much money. So go for it.
Also to those on this thread it would be good to come up with any other ideas worth a try so a checklist can be prepared for others in the future?A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. Hi Emmzi - sorry to hear that. Im sick of TRYING to keep the house tidy! Im not successful at it as I have 5 kids up here destroying everything in sight, but I do try!
Thanks Chickamug, I read somewhere about doing your own posters etc but a) Im not very good on a computer and b) Im not confident enough to hand them out! I am off to do a card in the supermarkets though!0 -
KYMIE i tried this nothing came of it mind but thought it was worth a go photocopied front of EA details (did ask there permission ) and put it in local shop window with note added to say if interested contact agent and there number. i wasnt breaking any rules as i was sending people through them anyway and it was safer that way than having complete strangers knocking on the door to look around EA take contact details ( and check them or so they say) but like i said dont know if it helped. i was wondering (i know there are some agents and ex agents on here lol) how often should you ring your agent to keep pushing for viewings without them getting sick of you. the market is dead round here so im not expecting viewings every day but havent had a viewing from either EA (im on with 2) for weeks now.:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:
 but alcohol solves them all

Hi Folks, well I have a viewing tody, and another on Wednesday, so some more viewings at least. Fingers crossed.Pawpurrs x0

How many viewings are people getting on average? My house has been on the market for about 5 weeks now and, although a viewing was arranged where nobody turned up, I have not had a single person through the door! I will be speaking to the estate agents to find out what is going on today as I have priced the house just under current market value in the hope of raising interest.0

Welcome Matty.....I have had approx 70 viewings, about an average of three a week. And that takes in to account xmas period where it was as dead as a dodo! Are your photos inviting?
EA thinks the viewers today may offer, heard it all before, so we shall see what tomorrow brings!Pawpurrs x0 -
