Wish that we could use some of them but we need our useless oafs to show people around...it looks a good avenue to go down.0 -
to be honest we have been on most of the free sites from the moment we thought about going on the market with no leads from them at all. i think most people use the likes of Rightmove etc which the EA's are all on.
the house accross the road from us is up for sale and they originally went up with one of these sites that if you pay a little, say £200 you get on their site with pics and a board to put up outside your house, they also had their house for sale in their car window but no joy. they are now up with an estate agent......and still no joy. you just need the buyers to be buying and in our town, they are not

The market we are selling in is flooded with flats. When ours wasn't on the market there weren't many and now we are every old neighbour within 2 miles is sticking them up for sale0 -
thats typical isnt it NEH, this is the bit i hate about selling (this is my first ever house sale as well!), the not being in control, i want to stand on the cliff edge and scream "my house is great, its for sale and you will love it if you just come and have a look"
haha

Just checked and another one within a few yards has gone on for sale. I am trying to see the positive side that 3 flats in a 12 flat block might put some buyers off thinking there is something wrong with the place and therefore they may come and look at ours being in the other block further down the road instead.....:rotfl:
I can dream...0 -
I'm with an Estate Agent, or so they call themselves, but also I've put it on Tepilo, Gumtree, Houseladder & Homesonsale. So that makes 6 sites if you include the EA & Rightmove. Not a sniff in 6 weeks. Listening to the news today (it's all about this trio of "vote for me merchants") an economist was saying that the banks have to start lending to small businesses, but because of something called an election is looming, everyone is on hold.
I have yet to hear any of these experts, saying that the housing market is dead & the banks/building societies need to start lending out the cash that we've bailed 'em out with to borrowers as well. Thankfully we are not in the position that we desperately need to move, nor have to start looking for our next property, but rather just downsizing, but that doesn't make it any easier, the frustration is still there.
Sod it! I'm going for a pint.:T0 -

I know how you feel, we have a townhouse (groan) and so does every other seller in a 1 mile radius. Every time I check RM there are more for sale (plus loads of new builds too). - I honestly don't know WHO we appeal to.0
