Hi all, just an update from me, I had an offer at £112k on my flat (up for £119k) - which I accepted... sick to death of the area and long commute to work and want to move out for the summer. Just a note - my flat has been on the market since mid April - so all in all not bad at all - with 7 viewings in that time (the viewings came in when the price went down to £119k). The surveys are being chased. Its a gifted deposit in which the EA has advised me to keep on the market till the surveys are done - happy to do so.. another person has come out the woodwork now and is interested - and going to the flat for a second viewing tomorrow.! Now I am in a moral dilemma, if they do come in with an offer, a better offer, whether to go for it or not - or hang out for the FTB's who put the first offer in. Has anyone else been in this boat to advise pls.
Many thanks, QP x0 -
I would be a bit wary of the gifted deposit, is it coming from yourself? In which case the lender may take that off when they value the property.
I would rarther sell to someone who has a decent deposit.
Good news that you managed to secure a buyer quickly.Pawpurrs x0 -
Hi pawpurrs - yes its the vendors gifted deposit. I will see what happens over the weekend, I agree I just wanted a simple transaction - I have never heard of gifted deposits - apparently they are 50% of sales at the moment (according to the EA).
I will update all after the weekend...
Pawpurrs have you had anymore offers on your place?

Having a bit of a panic that something is going to fall through with our sale. Havent heard anything since we spoke to EA week before last who advised as buyer wasnt having a mortgage she didnt want to have a survey done and as far as EA was concerned it was all progressing fine.
Just a bit concerned as EA told us originally that she wanted to be in in 4 weeks (she is living with family so doesnt have to vacate her house) and she put in the offer and we accepted on 9th May!
Have asked hubby to ring our solicitors to see whats happening as they wont speak to me as house is in hubbys name (data protection and all that). I mean ideally we would love to stay in our house as long as possible but I am just so nervous about the whole thing.
Good luck to everyone else.0 -
