Sorry Spirit, yes that is the right link for mine at £99.950. The link didn't work when I was at work, but am home now and can see it. I know next door have pics of their sitting room which has the baby stuff out on their rightmove ad.
I’d powerwash the slabs in the garden and buy a few bright plants to make it look great with the weather improving. If they’re in pots you can take them with you too.0 -
Then last week we got an offer a lot lower than marketed for but we decided lets take it, he seemed very keen and we found a little house put an offer in and now our agent can't get hold our buyer to get solicitors details so it looks like we are going to lose another house.
Don't despair just yet, might be perfectly good reason. When we offered on the house we finally bought OH went down with the swine flu, closely followed by me. Neither of us felt up to doing anything, certainly no phone calls to agents etc.It was a week before OH was feeling well enough to make contact with the agents again.
When we finally met our vendor (she had about 300 miles to travel from her home, so agents did all the viewings) she told us that at the time she thought we had lost interest. So sometimes "life happens", we're just grateful we finally got the house.
Fingers crossed it'll turn out OK for you, and there's a good reason why your purchaser is unavailable just now.
Best wishes, and Good Luck!0 -

Started off so positively, patiently awaiting news from our second viewing last Saturday, by Wednesday doubting my own senses (even though her Daughter in Law took photos of our house, was visually placing her furniture and her son quoting "your house is the only one which ticks all the boxes" !!).
Anyway, EA had given up hope (don't know why) they rang them again yesterday - still no answer - then we went to view a house at 4pm yesterday and at the same time doing that our EA rang with an offer for us !!! Am delighted - just got to confirm she is a cash buyer and so is her buyer (bottom of chain) and fingers crossed this is 3rd time lucky for us - hope I haven't jinxed it putting it on here !!!
So nearly 3 weeks after receiving our first offer from Buyer our EA is having extreme difficulties in trying to get any answers .......
1. Buyers are or have been on holiday so their Daughter in Law is our EA only contact. (not sure how true this is ???)
2. Apparently a survey was being done on their property on Monday but now turns out this did not even happen.
3. We still do not know which Solicitor they are using.
4. Their EA are b****y useless - our EA have not managed to speak to them and they are not returning their calls.
Got a phonecall from our EA yesterday saying "its not good" - they are going to give them another day's grace today and we'll have to decide what to do tomorrow or give an ultimatum.
I know they really want our house but in the back of my head I think the problem lies with either their Buyer or the Buyer at the bottom of the chain but as above, we haven't had any answers/conversations so who knows ??!!! Plus I don't think its unreasonable for them to know which Solicitor they are using - does anyone have any ideas why they haven't advised yet ???
Our house has now gone back onto Rightmove today without SSTC (we should have known better to let our EA take it off in the first place and I hope it doesn't attract notice from the EA who we are buying from - we'll just have to deal with that one if we get a phonecall from them ).
Typical - we have just found a home we love after just 1 week and it feels like its going pearshaped already - someone has got it in for us I think !!!
Last night really thought about finishing the whole thing. coming off the market and see if we could really stay here - I know in my heart I would not be happy here, there is only so much you can do to a home to make it how you want it but I have never really settled here.
We know this house will sell but its the whole chain thing that is making the whole experience UNBEARABLE and that doesnt matter whether the market is good or bad so whether we try again later the chain issue can pop up at any time.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me - so fed up !!!!!
Thanks for listening !!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Try not to despair over the strange people that mess you about. We have had two of those along the way. Offered, talked the talk, but then didn’t walk the walk. One completely vanished, and was un-contactable, the other admitted to lender problems (unspecified) in the end. Absolutely no action was taken on either part to proceed, which I’d take (for example) as booking and having the survey done. Luckily we didn’t come off the market for these time wasters.
Well, an update on our situation. In chronological order, recently we had a nice couple with a toddler, who clearly liked the house. Only the one viewing - followed by a ludicrously low offer. On reflection, we felt the house was waaay too big for them, and they’re just hoping to pick up a big property cheap.
The next viewer along was the one I described as a ‘normal human being’ in my earlier post. She brought her son with her, and in a very thorough viewing clearly came to the conclusion that they liked the house. She then came back for a second viewing, asked a couple of questions, had a quick look around, and then made an offer. One hit, close to asking price (very acceptable) but unfortunately, she is not proceedable!
Our latest viewing was a couple, where Mr was being very guarded and Mrs was being very pleasant. He kept ‘slapping her down’ in the middle of a conversation which is something I hate. He was clearly a bit of a control freak, and wanted to be totally in charge of the situation. Almost everything we said during the viewing was twisted in a negative way by him, presumably with the aim of down-valuing the house. Right at the end of the viewing he said they had made an offer on another property, but it ‘wasn't actually the property they really wanted’. We were not filled with confidence by that weird approach to house buying. We don't feel they'll be offering, and if they do, we think it will be a low offer.
The only good thing about viewer number two is that she may well be proceedable shortly. She has a character house, of which there are few on the market round here, and it doesn't seem too badly priced. However, we're not holding our breath on that one!

Hi NotLoaded, I think our experiences of selling are very similar !!
What is the matter with some people - I would never treat someone that way - its too cruel.
Good that you have had some viewings and I hope the Lady and Son are proceedable soon - you never know !!!
Houses in the area we are seeking are being snapped up - complete change to this time last year !! ..... both good and a bit scary !!! I am hoping we don't lose the house we have offered on but am preparing myself for the worst.
Onward and upward !!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
goldengirl - sorry to hear about the check - at least you can pull in a favour! It just goes to show you never know what is lurking with surveys/checks! How old is your house? Hope it's sorted easily enough.
?
built about 1920, but rewired in approx 1980, building regs have changed so brinking back upto code,
we've done our bit just need the buyers chap to come back tomorrow to finish off the report for him....he wants to complete over easter if possible.
went to see a house this morning, in the location we want, being sold by the owner............i can afford on my wage, its seriously needed a clean and a can of oust(i fell over a piece of carpet that was stuck out)
but looking past the obvious hygiene issues, it was lovely, (with great potential, needs 2 full new bathrooms) going to get hubby to have a look on sunday.............his responce was, he might have some time on his hands now redundant, so should be able to fix up him self
so watch this space, may be able to join the buyer thread soon.
good luck everyone else
hope the glorious sun brings out the buyers you all need
Not-Loaded, hope your normal lady comes back, we saw a house we loved which promted us to put our house on the market and we where able to offer on that house within 4 weeks, so hang tight its might work out........good luck
