  • i have accepted an offer on my house.............for exactly the price that DH and i agreed we could go down to, just waiting for his finances to be confirmed before the sold board goes up..................don't want to get too excited until that happens.

I must say last night i was feeling very sad about moving.......been here 16 years and will be sad to move on, but needs must :(

    Congratulations!!!!

You've had a really eventful week haven't you??!!!

Good luck - fingers crossed for you!!

There was a coment about Oil fired C/H. I did have one lady cancel a viewing for this reason but around here in a lot of villages Oil fired C/H is the norm. To be honest, as long as you remember to fill up in the summer months, there is no great difficulty with Oil and I did not notice a vastly huge difference in price compared to my last house that had gas fired C/H. I have a digital remote fuel tank level guage inside the house that tells me my fuel level and warns me if I need to refuel. A lot of companies will do a "top up" service without you needing to order fuel, based on average consumption factors.

The house is on mains sewerage / drains etc.
  • It would not put me off - actually doesn't it support the fact that you are so rural that there is no gas supply ??!!!

The other one is where you don't have mains sewarage and need a sceptic tank.

I think if you love a house why should little things like that put you off ???

I think washing machine built in is fab and a bonus as you are leaving it. Not everyone uses a dryer and I dont think it is a necessity like a built in oven, sink / taps etc !!!!

The fact you have been honest and just put w/m in the details should be sufficient and again in your F&F form.

Like everything when you move into a new property, if you don't like it/ don't need it .... you change it when you move in and that is for your Buyer's to decide - do you agree ????

    Thank you PottyHouse!

If you really mean per month, and not per week, that’s amazingly cheap! Where are you? I think I can afford to relocate all my stuff at those rates. Gotta link for the storage company?

been a long time reader of this thread, accepted an offer on our house last week, buyers survey has been done a few days afterward and looking to complete 1st week in march. (buyer's rental ends at end of feb)

all the right signs so far, just getting the process moving as fast as possible - we will be moving into my fathers house

everything crossed and touching wood to make sure things go as well as possible!

starting to look for properties now, a bit nervous that this may jinx it as we don't want to tempt any reason for our sale not to happen

Hi, personally I would accomodate the viewings. I would also think about leaving the house on the market until the survey has been instructed and done. Just incase your buyer falls though, that way you haven't lost valuable marketing days/weeks.

It's a nightmare! Honestly I was tearing my hair out trying to stay clean and tidy (with a toddler)!
I would take your EA's advice though. Have they advised to leave it on the market until survey?
