Already posted on another thread but thought I might get more opinions on here!
I am in the process of selling my house, and whilst the washer/dryer machine isn't on the sales particulars, I am leaving it for the buyers as it is built in. The dryer part of the machine doesn't actually work, so I simply put washing machine included in sale on the f&f form and have never mentioned is also being a dryer as I have no intention of getting it fixed. Will this be okay? The buyers have asked me about the dryer, and I said that it is a combi but the dryer doesn't work hence only putting washing machine on the f&f.
    Thanks in advance

Sounds like you are being very straight to me. Frankly, a house is such a big purchase, minor things like this, if disclosed, should be of no consequence.

    Morning all,

I hope that you have all had a good weekend with lots of viewings on your properties.

Kymie, here's hoping your exchange will go through this week, (and anyone else planning to exchange this week too)

I had an offer last week on my house £10k below the figure I reduced it to just before Christmas. Apparently this offer is dependent on the offer-ees (if there is such a word, they can't become buyers til i accept IMHO) getting just under £20k loan from friends and family

So my dilemma is whether to accept this once they have this additional loan agreed, or hang about for another offer. There certainly has been lots of viewers around lately and i have 3 booked in for tomorrow.

On another note, my reason for moving was to be nearer work to save on travelling costs (30 miles to the office). However, I am not happy working where I am and would really like to move somewhre completely different.

I've been looking on Rightmove etc at places in the West Country, for what I can sell mine for, I could get a really nice 3 or 4 bed detached and still have quite a few £k left over.

the question is one of jobs of course. i've had a tentative look on jobsite for jobs in the area.

Am i mad to do this or should i move nearer work as originally planned?:undecided

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It is highly valued - keep it coming.

The feedback has been great so far, I now also think the issue may be that people could possibly feel the house is a little "top heavy". However, this could be remedied by a conservatory or extension...but I note the comment about budget constraints that would perhaps put some people off doing or considering this work in a somewhat uncertain property market. Maybe a bit more confidence in the market will make someone feel they can take the plunge and feel that they will make money on any work they do (or at least be fairly safe from losing money).

The biggest selling points, aside from further potential at the property, are the location of the house and the open views, but perhaps I do need to show more of the house itself. It has certainly seemed that the location of the house is not enough on its own to sell it...which is different to how things used to be when location was king. Priorities are a bit different at the moment.

I will keep you up to date with progress!

Sorry i wanted to comment earlier, but having trouble with the broadband over the weekend.

its says oil power CH.................have you had any feedback on that?

I'm not familiar with it, therefore it would put me off (due to my ingnornace obviously)

Hi everyone, fingers crossed Kymie, and all others waiting to sell and or exchange.
Spirt if the job is making you unhappy why not consider a move, sounds lovely.
Mrsw sounds more than fair, you have been honest and above board nought wrong with that.
    Pawpurrs x ;)
  • i have accepted an offer on my house.............for exactly the price that DH and i agreed we could go down to, just waiting for his finances to be confirmed before the sold board goes up..................don't want to get too excited until that happens.

I must say last night i was feeling very sad about moving.......been here 16 years and will be sad to move on, but needs must :(

Thanks pawpurrs, I thought that I'd done the right thing in being honest but it's good to get the opinions of others!

I think washing machine built in is fab and a bonus as you are leaving it. Not everyone uses a dryer and I dont think it is a necessity like a built in oven, sink / taps etc !!!!

The fact you have been honest and just put w/m in the details should be sufficient and again in your F&F form.

Like everything when you move into a new property, if you don't like it/ don't need it .... you change it when you move in and that is for your Buyer's to decide - do you agree ????

Hi Spirit, you certainly have a lot of choices and decisions to make !!!

You should do whatever you feel is right for you at this moment in time.

Obviously without a job in a brand new area that may prove difficult to support you in your new home !!!

You are brave ! moving home and thinking about changing jobs too !!!

I would do one or the other ....

you either find a fabulous new home that you would never want to move from .. nearer to work
    or
you find a fantastic job that would make you happy and try and find a suitable property nearer to that location
    or
do both - get a fantastic new home and a fantastic new job !!!!!

Good luck with your decision making !!!!

We got a phonecall on Saturday for our 1st viewing of the year, this Saturday coming :j.

They are on the market but not sold (I think) and I like it when you get lots of notice as they are not just ringing the day before as they are at a loose end ... anybody else think that way ???!!!!

Back to you, good that you have some offers to think about and more viewings too - onwards and upwards for you I think !!!
