Hi Dave, Well I am so much happier now I have moved, Dh still hasnt got a job as such. But has been painting and decorating and has work doing that untill after xmas. He was an IT consultant! Bit different huh! He is also trying to set up helping people with their computers. And we are doing shifts at our local pub, so keeping the wolf from the door, so to speak. He used to be away, all the time which made me unhappy especially in the most unfriendly village in the world with NFH, but thats all behind us now, and we are back in the friendlist village in the world with neighbours we know and love, couldnt be more different! So much happier.
We are going to look at a cottage that we like the look of on saturday, but its way overpriced, past peak prices, not sure when to jump back in, prices still havent dropped much in this village.
    Hows your new house?

Glad to hear you are enjoying life again, even if you're having to be extra- creative to stay solvent. One of my cyber-chums on here has the sig "If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got." I think that's so true. Who knows where your new life will take you?

As to when you should climb back on the ladder; I think the answer to that lies in finding the right deal, rather than reading the runes over the economy. It's safer! If our place hadn't come along, I'd not be worried about missing any boats just yet, though I'd be bored.

After 6 weeks or so in here, we know we were meant to have this place, but we still can't quite believe that we own it all. Our village is also very friendly, giving people a folder full of local info when they arrive here. DW is already playing for their ladies' skittles team.

Meanwhile, the house is nowhere as bad as I decided it was when we did our own survey; in fact most of it is reasonably well-built. I suppose it's natural to err on the side of caution though. It also looks more homely, thanks to a few tins of paint and a bit of carpet: well that, and fixing a few holes in the roof! :rotfl:

Do keep us up to date with your house-hunting, especially when you decide 'This is the one.'

Yippee, at last exchanged today, with the big move set for the 8th! Now I'm starting to panic as there's so much to do... but going out tonight to celebrate!
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
  • Congratulations Keith. We're hoping to exchange Monday and then complete on the 13th after our buyers realised they got their dates wrong and they aren't on holiday then.

A link to mine - Anybody got any helpful comments?

Hi there, it looks lovely! That wallpaper in the living room is gorgeous. If it was near us I'd buy like a shot! (but it's not, and we've offered on a semi already)

Only criticism I have is that you have to go to the brochure to find the measurements - might be a good idea to have them on the Rightmove front page as well, as not everyone will bother to click through to the brochure. Especially anyone not particularly internet savvy.

One of the bedroom windows seems to look out over open land - can't quite make it out, might it be worth taking a photo of that? Could be wrong of course.

Good luck with your sale, hope it happens soon!

    Maggie
