…House around the corner went on the market last week and has already had a viewing aghhh it is just not fair. Also, as it is an estate and the houses are all very nice but not too vastly different, and mine and his are on for the same, I actually thought they may come and see mine also. That was Saturday and I have heard diddly squat so I guess that is not the case. In total I have now been on the market for 5 months with no viewings and am getting really fed up…
Two days after we got on the market we saw a local 4 bed property with smaller room sizes than ours, on a busy road (called link detached but actually terraced) go on at £15k more than ours. We also have an extra room (recep) over them, and an extra bathroom. My garage has workshop space, with theirs you’d be lucky to get the car door open once you’d parked in it. I expect you know what I’m going to say… Yes, it went SSTC amazingly quickly.
Of course you don’t know the circumstances of the sale. Maybe they accepted a very low offer and were in a hurry, who knows? But it does make me wonder…0 -

Thought i better update ....
Monday : i waited and waited for the call from the ea to let us know if our buyers were pulling out but by 2pm nothing so i gave in and rang. The branch manager (organ grinder) who was dealing with them had gone on holiday and handed the "issue" over but this person was in a meeting. I was told by the "monkey" that he knew nothing about it would would chase them up and call me back. 2hours later nothing so again i rang, only to be told messages had been left but no response:mad: at 5:15pm the phone goes and its good (ish) news they are willing to wait :T BUT want to be in on the 30th sept ... omfg they are now arguing over 1 day !! how many times do i have to say I CANT MOVE TIL THE 1ST !!!
EA then goes on to say they want to exchange on the 26th ( today ) but i said that wont happen as i haven't got the contracts to the house im buying yet.
I rang the sol this morning to tell them my concerns about exchanging only to be told they my buyers have raised more issues on the 19th Aug so until these are answered exchanging WONT happen anyway :mad:
the last weeks break down = they ring me on the 17th telling me they want to complete on the 28th, they cancel my council tax on the 18th telling them they are the new owners then on 19th they raise more issues, the 21st they threaten to pull out and on the 24th they want to exchange on the 26th, what the hell are they playing at !!!
I tell you what, that bottle of champagne i had put away for them as a moving in gift is going to be very much enjoyed by ME:rotfl:Mad mum to 4, boy 17, boy 10, boy 10 and girl 7

I think you deserve it! Treat yourself when you get into your new home. (wish there was a toast in champagne icon!)
All best wishes, and fingers toes and everything else crossed that it goes ahead at a time convenient to YOU.

Charliestwins, that must be so stressful. Sounds to me like they don't really understand the process at all and are just flailing around. Why are they so set on being in before the 1st? Is there tenancy ending or something like that? Can you ask the EA to have a quiet word and explain to them the process? Sounds like they've already tried so maybe you'll just have to put up with them and hope they don't mess things up. Perhaps they are just frustrated by the chain. Would it be worth trying to meet them and explain the situation?
We move into our place on Monday and I'm back at work already - big mistake as there is so much to do but I didn't have enough notice to book off more time! Almost killed me packing up the house on Sunday and we were up until 2.30am and then awake again at 6.30 on move day, but sooo worth it.
We're very happy in the new place, even though it needs so much doing to it. It's very quiet, which is wonderful after the truck noises, boy racers and horrible drunk teenagers that made the last 2 years of our old house hell. We're feeling very lucky and can't quite believe we've got there.
I'm sorry to hear it's still so tough for everyone else. I had some pretty dark times when we were trying to sell, but it can turn around so quickly, so hang in there!Hoping to create a beautiful life for DS and I.

was messed around by third AE coming to give valuation, changing, cancelling apts so told them to forget it and have gone with one of the others who came out.. (only wanted to see what they valued at anyway, dont think they are great at advertising here)
anyway.. its all systems go, they are coming to take photo's etc next week.. and I sorted the HIP report online, cost a tad more being leasehold.. but was still cheaper than the AE quoted
*fingers crossed it goes smoothly*
hmmm.... :rolleyes:0 -
