Charliestwins wrote: »Morning all,
well im getting a bit despondent now :rolleyes2 we are not sitting on any paperwork, everything we have received has been dealt with asap. We still haven't received f&f for the house we are buying  and our buyers solicitor is still dragging their feet. We sent off the contracts end of July and we are told our buyers were happy with them yet we haven't heard a thing for 3 weeks.
We're in almost the same position. It's been nearly 10 weeks of our buyers' solicitors either doing very little, claiming they haven't received paperwork, or nit-picking about things which our solicitor feels are irrelevant. The estate agent and our solicitor have been trying hard to move things along but it's proving very difficult and getting so frustrating. I feel for you Charliestwins but at least know that you're not alone in this.0 -

I accepted an offer on my house 2 weeks ago tomorrow. The house has been off the market ever since. I was assured by the agent that the necessary financials were in place but the survey hasn't been booked yet. When accepting the offer I did say that it would be removed from the market immediately but I would expect the survey to be booked in within a 2 week deadline.
As the 2 weeks are up tomorrow, do you think it's reasonable to go back and say that I want the house to go back on the market until a survey has been booked?
I'm aware that I risk losing the buyer.Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000

I told my buyers i wasn't going to take my house off the market till the survey was booked to which they were really worried ( their offer was one of 4 i had) my ea told me they wouldnt mess me about as they had already lost out on another house. I told them they had 2 weeks to book the survey, after 2 weeks no survey so when i rang ea he said it was because their mortgage was through Abbey and they had a back log and someone would be in contact. It took nearly 6 weeks for the survey to be done but it wasnt their fault.
To my point lol do you thik it could be the mortgage people that are holdig the survey up ?Mad mum to 4, boy 17, boy 10, boy 10 and girl 7

Well the EA has apparently spoken to their FA and all the mortage paperwork has been done so in theory the survey should be booked in any day now. The agent said to give it another 24-48 hours.
It's an investment buyer and for some reason I've just got a weird feeling about this. Probably spent too much time reading this threadDebt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000

We decided quite a while ago that we wouldn’t ‘take off the market’ on a buyer’s request. I feel these recent posts clearly show that the buyer (or their financier) lose motivation to get on with it.
For a lender in this lending climate to take six weeks is downright silly. If they knew it was still on the market the buyer would be pestering the lender to stop messing about. As it is, nobody’s bothered – they’re all taking it easy.Fortheloveofmoney wrote: »…As the 2 weeks are up tomorrow, do you think it's reasonable to go back and say that I want the house to go back on the market until a survey has been booked?

OMG are my buyers having a laugh or what !!!
Just had a call from my sol to say they want to be in by the end of the month !! so because its a bank holl this month thats a week fri !!! We haven't even exchanged yet ! I haven't got my f&f for the house im buying, let along contracts or even raised issues i have.
argh what the hell am i going to do ?
i have barely started packing as the kids unpack for me. I told them when they offered that i couldnt move till 1st oct
.....
Wrote the above the got another call from EA, they have told me that my buyers Have to move because their tenancy runs out! i told them that was the first i'd heard about it and if they had told me a month ago then maybe we could have done something but its unrealistic to expect me to pack up our house while the 4 kids are off school ( 1 being disabled ). They also told me that everyone else in the chain is ready to move, ive kept in constant contact with both ,my sol's and this is the first ive heard about this.
Oh and to add apparently there is 5 in the chain not 3 like i was lead to belive
loads more but i need a brandy and take a few death breaths !!!Mad mum to 4, boy 17, boy 10, boy 10 and girl 7

So, at the end of day two on completion week, still no exchange. I was about to have a nervous breakdown, but now I'm just drinking wine.
I rang sol and EA earlier and told them tomorrow or no coconut. We've worked out that should they exchange on Thursday, there is no way we can pack, move my fish, ring all utilities in less than 24 hours. The EA seemed to understand, but seemed a bit disapointed that we were putting our foot down, but we've got no choice, it's not possible after tomorrow. I wish it were, but it's only possible for tomorrow because my family own the removals company!
Apparently our buyers sol is expected in the office tomorrow, so maybe it will happen. They've tried explaining to our buyer that if their sol doesn't exchange tomorrow then it might not be possible to complete (if funds can't be drawn down, they haven't told them that we won't complete) but apparently they just don't understand. I'm not sure why, I think maybe they are a bit niave and think if it's what they want it will happen, but we've tried so hard to meet their demand for a 21st completion, despite them missing two exchange dates from us, we can't bend over anymore for them.
So, Wednesday or bust. I don't think it's a gazundering problem, but here's hoping that this 15 month NIGHTMARE ends tomorrow and I can stop obsessing!
Thanks for the tip about hiring cleaners. To be honest, it's not in my interest to fork out for them to clean their house for them, and the house we're moving to is completely full of mould, so not much point cleaning that thoroughly, far more pressing issues!
Sorry for the long post - the pinot is in control - not me! Must keep sorting things to be packed in the hope this actually happens!Hoping to create a beautiful life for DS and I.
