I was buying while commuting - so if you couldn't do a day I was in town and no appointments - that'd be you off the list. I knew the type/size of house I wanted and did a very specific search and 'very keen to move' was high up my list.
But, I am probably not typical! Others will be more interested in area/ schools etc. I'm a single girl who just needs somewhere to lay her weary head that needs no decorating!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
We are changing agents next week. Hope a change makes the difference. i feel like our EAs have lost interest in selling ours, now that they have managed to sell the one we had our offer accepted on. Since we gave our notice they have appeared to try harder by ringing us with two viewers who have then quickly decided to cancel, so I think our EA is pushing it to people who dont really want it.0

Well, we didn't exchange yesterday. I don't know why they told us they woud be.
We're hoping they sort it out today, we've had confirmation that everyone is ready, so it's just waiting for the professionals to do their thing.
Our buyers want to complete on Friday. We've been packing as much as we can, but we've run out of boxes now and can't get the removal companies ones until we exchange. I think we're going to tell them they either exchange today or they'll have to complete next week. We're moving to a house where all the utilities are disconnected, so I've got quite a lot of calls to make once we exchange. Can't do anything until then and I'm not sure I'll be able to pack up the rest of the house and sort all that out by Friday unless we exchange today, because I've got to work until Thursday.
So - everything crossed for one more day?!?!?Hoping to create a beautiful life for DS and I.

Morning all,
well im getting a bit despondent now :rolleyes2 we are not sitting on any paperwork, everything we have received has been dealt with asap. We still haven't received f&f for the house we are buying  and our buyers solicitor is still dragging their feet. We sent off the contracts end of July and we are told our buyers were happy with them yet we haven't heard a thing for 3 weeks.
I would just like to know that we havent been forgotten about, ive tried ringing both sets of sol's and get the same responce " we are waiting on their solicitors!"
Mind you tho after sunday when it took us 6 hours to sort the shed out with the help of our 4 kids  i think we are going to need all the extra time we can get :rotfl:
Shellstar fingers crossed you exchage today
Tootsmyboots, i hope your new agents can get you a sale - we went on with 4 !!
Any news on how Purrpaws move went yet ?

Apparently our buyers conveyancer (the one who has apparently been so awful) is out of the office today, and didn't think to mention it to anyone when she failed to exchange yesterday!
They are frantically trying to find someone else in the office to do it instead, but it doesn't look likely!
So I've really no idea where this leaves us. We've got no power, but to exchange and complete within 2 days, with everything to organise in that time period, when they were actually supposed to exchange 2 weeks ago!
Do you think it's ok if I don't clean the house for them when I move out? I've got cream carpets so they will be a bit grimmy (just the usual dust and fluffy socks, not actual dirt). They won't be damaged, but I'm really not sure I'll have time to sort that kind of thing out if they really want to complete on Friday.Hoping to create a beautiful life for DS and I.

Hi
Im at the stage where the draft papers etc have gone out to the buyers solicitiors & are waiting on the buyers solicitors for enquiries.
Im also waiting for news on when the survey will be.
Does a survey always get carried out?
Is the next stage the exchange of contracts?
Be good to hear from you :beer:0 -

Ive hired a cleaner to come in 2hrs before our keys needed to be handed in to clean the house. Ive asked them to vacuum carpets, clean windows, polish wooden flooring, polish sills and skirting, bathroom and kitchen. Once they have done our house they will meet us at our new house and do the same there while we go out for lunch before we start part 2 of the move.
I hope they manage to get someone in the office to do the exchange for you, what a nightmare.

Posting the same post twice is not more likely to get someone to reply... in fact it is less likely as it begins to look like spam.I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like?:A

I think if you read through this thread you'll see that it is very likely that the next stage is many weeks of to-ing and fro-ing between solicitors, queries about covenants, fences, flying freeholds etc etc. Delays are very common so be prepared for the long haul.0
