I did say to them that perhaps they had miss sold me a policy and that they were quick enough to take my money with empty promises, Also that they had promised to give me an immediate refund if the case had failed.....1/2 hr later I got a phone call saying that my money had been refunded!!! I havnt received anything yet but am going to the bank tomorrow to check, what with xmas bank hols etc. Fingers Xs

I also have an apointment with the Natwest next week, am I right in believing that as the loan was signed for in 2004 that in accordance with the UK high court ruling the loan can be deemed as unenforceable??? I know that I have had to claim on the PPI but was not told that the insurance would not cover the whole term of the loan!!! We are now looking at being about 11 months short!! Isnt that like taking out 12mths car insurance but only getting 10!!!

    Thanks again

I gave them £500 upon their 99% promise of getting my PPI refunded and loan written off.

That is disgraceful that they told you that. In reality, the figure for that is likely to be around the 1% mark. A long way from the 99% you were told.

You should complain to the MoJ as they rely on volume of calls and emails about companies to start investigating them.

    Hi Sue
Good news in regards of the refund, well done.
Hope they refund this to you very soon, fingers crossed.

In regards of unenforceable loans, I do not have a clue - sorry, but you should be able to find info on the above loan thread about this actual matter, if not then start a post about this in the loan thread here:

  • Sorry to hear about your situation gsxrsue. There seems to be a growing number of people (I'm one of them) who have received a very poor, or non existent service from Kerobo. I'm trying to get a full refund from them, they are a nightmare.

    Hi all,
I have had a claim with this farcical company, and I tell you... what a brilliant scam! Imagine. You get 10s of thousands of people to pay you £500, then you hold on to their money for 4-5 months and grab yourself a nice pot of interest. So say there are 50000 claims:
    50000 x £500 = £25 000 000 (yes 25 million!)
    Get a conservative 5% interest:
    25000000 x 0.05 = £1 250 000

It was in fact today I got the news that my claim wasn't strong enough... or some nonsense.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU AVOID KEROBO CLAIMS!

I think I will report this company and it smells fishy to me...

    VERY ANNOYED.

From how you state it above its more of a scam than a company out to help. I would certainly report them to MOJ.;)

That seems to be the common claims company business model. ;)

Perhaps far stricter regulation is needed and hefty fines like the FSA do to continuous offenders cause these companies seem to get away with it all the time.

Why they continue to be allowed to do things like this is beyond me. I wish there was someone higher than MOJ who people could complain to:confused:. MOJ seems to let them off scott free and allow them to open up more companies doing people out of more money if they ever do close them down.

Agreed. The MoJ comes across as a very weak regulator.

The criteria for setting up a claims company is weak. Plus, they are allowed to tell consumers things without caveats in areas that are regulated that an IFA cannot say. If a claims company is going to deal in regulated advice complaints then the person calling should at least have the required qualifications and know what they are talking about.
