Seeing as though I spent every penny of my debt, and agreed to the interest when borrowing it, I am quite comfortable paying back every penny.

Personally I like to think I have higher morales than 'wayward bankers'.

Good luck getting those cowboys to do what they've promised you once you've handed them your money!

You have hit the nail on the head there...if it was what I agreed - fine, I would be happy to pay that back - but that is not what I agreed with them and signed too.
I think people are misunderstanding the argument here. If I agree something and its in writing - great, its set in stone? Apparently not when it comes to banks, they change and automatically take my money as they see fit.
I dont feel moral has much stance here - its too late for that now that I have been lead steadily into more debt.
    :D

  • Well, I can confirm they refunded my money yesterday. Has anyone else received a refund ?

Firstly its not PPI that im trying to sort its my credit card. Just to clear up, its not as simple as avoiding my debt - nothing is black and white as they say. I took out my card in 2004 and am still paying off my debt with very little impact. How can banks "blatantly" rip us off with out us even knowing about it?! God knows how many times they have changed my interest and Im not even sure I know what rate im on now.
I am not ashamed for trying to clear my debt, im playing the banks at there own game and feel I have every right to do so as they havent played by the rules. Fact: I signed an agreement with a set interest rate and expected min payments - they changed it, i didnt agree to any changes. Im sure there are loads of people in exactly the same boat.
Its worth everyone knowing the facts behind the situation before passing judgement.
I have never known of any credit card to actually stay at the same rate forever. Interest rates can be set for a set time but most are totally variable. Are you saying you actually agreed a totally fixed rate for your credit card?? To be able to have a "fixed" interest then you would have to take a "fixed" loan out. Its the same for mortgages whereby if you want an interest rate that is not variable you actually pay a hefty fee to fix it. This is why you pay the fee to keep it at that particular rate as when you sign the agreement. Surely if you signed to a "fixed" rate on your card and did not agree to it being variable then you have a pretty cut and dried case and the bank would have no option that to honour it. If you have ever been in arrears at any time of your card then they are allowed to revoke any conditions that they stated to you at the time of signing.

And for the record "you" actually said you are "avoiding" yours. Avoiding means you actually are "shunning" and comfortable doing it. This to me suggests you are just looking for ways out of your debt and its not a case of you actually feel you have been wronged. If it were a case of being wronged and you have proof then surely you should be able to take this up with the bank and FOS but to continue paying what you actually were allowed to borrow. If you have a strong enough case then I am sure you will win and the bank would have to put you back into the postion as if your interest rate was never varied and 8% statutory interest on top. A lot fairer way I would say (just my opinion though). Even if FOS cannot help in situations like this then surely its better in a case like yours (if as you say your interest was fixed and they varied it) if you threatened the courts they would most probably cave in.
  • They are a total nightmare. I gave them until today to refund my money or I would complain to the Ministry of Justice (which is what I'm about to do), and I have also given them a further 7 days before I go to the small claims court.

Please update the thread with progress in getting your money back.

    Thanks
  • I'm another blonde who stupidly gave kerobo £450. I wish i had read these threads in september before i gave them my money. Like everyone else I have heard nothing about my claim apart from excuses. Everytime I call them they just bide for time with rubbish about where my claim is at. I've totally wasted my money and will be contacting the MoJ.
I decided to find out what other people had experienced with them after phoning them recently to ask about my claim and shockingly getting a very bad attitude from the person on the other end of the phone. They are obviously only polite when they want your money. I will probably have paid my credit card off by the time these losers do anything about wiping off our depts.
I hope everyone who has been conned by these scammers gets there money back and at least these posts help stop others from being conned.

... good idea. I am going to do the same. I have contacted them today and was told the paperwork is with the CEO (my @ss!) - so if they don't pay up I'm going to go nuts on them!
  • Interesting to see that a lot of New Members are coming on here and posting random 1 posts about this company negatively and about thee actual type of business. Then there is no activity from these 'new members' who are posting their first (AND ONLY) post on here and not logging in again after they have posted these messages! Anyhow, I got 14k back from a similar type of company, and they took a £500 fee plus 30%, that was 2 yrs ago, on a Credit Card I had already almost paid off. An absolute bargain if you ask me! Anyway, back to my original point , I think someone or somebody MAY be a little disgruntled by a company they used to work for, or maybe still do? Looks, and sound like a vendetta. Oh look, I'm a NEW USER and this is my FIRST POST. See my point?

So you only saw £9,300 of £14,000 that you were entitled too? Hardly a bargain!!!:rotfl:
