First day of LMP....
.....30 May 2008 :rotfl:
We did get carried away one night (not often we have the energy!) but DH withdrew before the vital moment
 jeez - I sound about 15 - I am 32, honest:rotfl:
In all seriousness I am breastfeeding so that does reduce the likelihood so I wasn't worried about not having a period...
...but that was before I started mashing up a tin of marrowfat because we had no mushy peasto put on a sandwich
Oh my lord!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

I have the pill ready and waiting for when my period comes
and we have a mountain of condoms within reach
Well that would answer the question of whether we will have any more!
In all seriousness, I don't feel pregnant, Benjamin is only 12 weeks, so it would be a bit early for cravings anyway, and we have only taken a bit of a risk twice
I am sure it will be fine :cool:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hi all..
Quick update on Rhys.. He's doing really wellHe was off his breathing support machine for six hours on Sunday and breathing completely for himself with a little oxygen tube up his nose. Went back on the support machine cos he was getting tired out, but the docs said six hours was a huge, really good amount for a first time
They're going to try him an hour at a time a few times a day now so that he can build up his muscles and lungs but not get too tired from it, then increase the amount of time over the next week or so and see where we go from there
Can't remember if I mentioned it on here or just the Preg Thread, but I was having problems with low milk supply but have been taking Fenugreek capsules and they seem to have upped my supply so I can keep up with Rhys' feeds again. Anything else I get today I have to put in the freezer - hurrah for building up freezer stocks again
lwcus78, when you're around again, can I ask, have you taken your little one to mother and baby groups? What I'm wondering is about the classes weelz mentioned which are probably aimed at mothers with babies of a certain age.. but what happenes when you have a premmie? For M&B groups, do you go with the date your baby was born or from the date he should have been born?(Does that make any sense?!)
OH has gone back to work now. He had Rhys' first three weeks off work as holiday but wants to save some of his holiday for when he finally comes home. Luckily, he's got a really nice new boss who's said he can come in to show his face then come back to the hospital and the boss will try to cover up his absence as best he can and only record it officially if they get caught - unlikely, as it's me (the HR Administrator who's now on maternity leave!) who'd be doing the checking up!
Hope everyone's little ones are doing well and ,for those who are having them, the jabs go well!
ETA: MFD, presumably it's the mini-pill you're going on as you're breastfeeding? Do you have to wait for your first period to start it again? I'm sure when I started taking it, 4-5 years ago, I wasn't having periods (came off combined pill 7mths before and still not had a period since) but I just started taking it anyway and had to wait a week to be covered by it. I've got to go to my GPs sometime soon to sort going back on the mini-pill (amongst other things)..0 -
MFD - you have made me giggle! thanks for the top tips info. We aren't stepping in at the moment until she's been crying for 5mins and that's not working.
At the baby clinic the other HV agreed with me that if my instinct is that she's too young to leave, then she probably is so we are shelving that until she's a bit bigger. when I told her all the symptoms and she watched LO for a few minutes she is pretty sure its all down to teething!!!! so have picked up some teething gel and ashton powders to try. I'm also upping her feed in the morning to see if that also has an impact on the night wakenings - another suggestion by HV.
Jabs went well - she gave the nurse the biggest dirty look I have ever seen after she stopped screaming! She's had a nice long sleep so hope.
sleepsuits - I like tesco basics for fit on Annabel - long and thin. They are great for night times. Next aren't worth the money in my view as bobbled lots and are the wrong shape for us - shorter legs but wide in the body. Not had mothercare ones (there are 2 in the cupboard for the 6 -9 months range which were a present). Actually, have a *how do you spell val-our*? sleepsuit which may be from their in which case we like them!
Not had asda cheepies, but tried some of their £6 range individual ones and think they are lovely. A good daytime babygrow/outfit as opposed to a nighttime basic. Have a couple of marks and spencers single babygrows which were about £8 full price (bought them in the sale) and they are nice material.
Have minimode and not liked the shape, but couldn't fault the material.
my favourite daytime babygrows however are by emile and rose. Not mse in the slightest, but so far they have been presents!!!!! And I did take back the linen one we were given which cost £33 and got three suits from John lewis instead (again great quality - but didn't like the look of the basics ones for the money they cost £12ish for three).
Also bought the LO a cosytoes for her carseat - can't wait till it arrives. I've been hankering after one for weeks and on her growth so far she'll be in it for a while so we'll get good use. I have sworn I won't have anymore but found myself rejecting the pink ones for the grey, just in case!!!!!! please tell me this is my mse instincts and not that i'm going mad (although unlike MFD we've not been indulging!).r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I'm a bit late to the picture-posting club - hope these work, a few weeks ago at a sunny picnic
(ok, I can't make them work. Struggling for a bit longer then going back to my actual job)
