Hi all, not been on much the last few weeks as little ones reflux has been terrible. I might catch up with the posts one day!! The medication isn't working well for him and his mouth and oesophagus is all raw. This is affecting his sleep (he sleeps in half hour bouts at night), eating(too painful to eat and he just screams when he has the reflux bouts.
We're off to see the GP today again to up the dose of the medications. We've been referred to see a gatro peadiatrician so hopefully we wont have to wait too long for the appt.
I am just soooo very tired as had so little sleep in the last 8 months. I'm also fed up of hearing myself moan!! I'm getting on my nerves.!! I cant wait til its all sorted so that I can start to enjoy my lovely little boy.
Sounds like you had a lovely time Becles.
Lovely pics posted last few days. I'll try get a minute to figure out how to do it.
Hope meds doing the trick Mrs T.

Well we're having fun at the moment... I've got a sore throat and sniffles and Roo has sniffles too poor thing! She refused to settle till about 1:30 last night but did sleep through till 7:30... unfortunately it was in our bed and she always ends up squidging ME out of bed *sigh*
DH changed her and left for work as I was feeding her and no sooner had he closed the front door than she projectile vomited all her breakfast to the immense delight of the dog... - cue change of clothes for me, baby grow for her, claen the floor, rock baby to sleep and reattach to pump to get extra milk for when her tummy settles... poor mite...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! hello
we are still having the sleep issues, which i've realised are:
a. she can't self sooth
b. her sleep rythm is 45mins long and she only seems to be able to do that during the day and in the evenings - yet she did 5-6wks of 8-10hrs a night with a 2-3hr sleep at lunch so we know she can do it. prob b. is worse because of prob a. as when she wakes after 45mins she can't put herself back to sleep.
we've tried cc for 5mins a time on hv recommendation but it's causing worse problems as she gets so worked up we have hours of screaming then throwing up!
we need something to break her rythm - her 3rd and last jabs are today and if they make her sleepy like before this may do that - i hope!!! MFD - what does your book say on it??????
congrats samir.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Oh sounds like we're all having a bit of a mare.
Caz, I hope you're feeling a bit better for some sleep.
Feelie - any luck with the HV?
Here we woke up to find Izzy has conjunctivitis (cue DH running around panicing and being bloody useless :rotfl:) and as it seems quite bad, we're off to the doctors later this morning. It was the second day n a row that I've spoken to the triage nurse - we will be exchanging christmas cards at this rate!
Was meant to be visiting my grandad today, but at least I can get some housework done instead - this place is a right state at the moment. May have to resort to cbeebies for a bit this afternoon while I rush around like a mad womanIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Rmac - Sleep! We also had around 5 weeks of her sleeping 8 hours - but that seems to have stopped now. She's back to waking between 3 and 4am for a feed.
She really doesn't sleep much during the day. Her biggest one is from 9am (she drops off in the pram on the way home from school) til about 10.30. Apart from that, she'll have a couple of 15-20 minute naps during the day. I'm hoping that real food might help her sleep longer?!?
Emlou - Clothes. We got lots of proper outfits as gifts but my favorites are the little rompers. She had one on at the weekend and my mum said she looked like a 'proper' baby. She's got some nice soft jeans (lined I think), but someone also got her some awful stiff itchy ones!
My friend says that when you get clothing gifts for the baby, you can tell which of them were bought by already-Mums.
Becles - Glad you had a good holiday - but the coming home washing is a nightmare! I love Turkey - we last went when Liv was 8 months old and we couldn't believe how much of a fuss the Turkish make of the babies. A couple of times during our evening meals, one of the waiters would walk her round and round the pool area in her buggy while we ate in peace.OH (now ex!) was paraniod and thought they were planning a kidnap - he couldn't understand that some people are just nice!
Photos - We do produce some good looking children on here don't we!I need to get a nice one of my three all looking lovely, without one of them pulling a strange face! I want it put on a Moonpig fathers day card for Dad and Grandads.

While i'm here, where would anyone recommend for sleepsuits?
Violet has just about grown out of 0-3 months (at 4 months old!), and i've sorted through the 3-6 month old clothes that we have and there's no sleepsuits.
Would you lot buy the cheap packs from Asda/Tesco or is it worth getting a few of the more expensive ones from Mothercare/Next?
And - has anyone got an Ikea cot? We're going cot shopping next week when OH is off work and i've seen a few bits I want from Ikea so was wondering if we could do it all in one shop and get the cot from there too.:beer:0 -
3 - all Izzy's clothes are from Tesco, Asda or Primark, and they're all fine... can't really compare with the Mothercare ones though. Maybe they are amazing!
We're just about growing out of 3-6 month stuff at 5 months old - just had to buy some new sleeping bags, as she is too tall for the ones we have been using. She is going to be much taller than me when she grows up I think!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

The difference in price is 5 for £3.75 at Asda, or 3 for £12 in Mothercare!!!
Unless the Mothercare ones make her sleep for longer :rotfl:, I think i'll go for a walk up to Asda/Ethel Austins/Matalan!:beer:0 -
So much to reply to!!
It seems to be the day for injections - we had our 12 week-ers today. I was feeding him at the time so he sqealed but the thought of losing his grip on the boobie soon put a stop to that :rotfl:
I don't recommend next clothes at all, they wash really badly IMHO and look faded after just a few wears.
Primark are fine and wash well but there is a long distance between the poppers on the legs so they can gape a little if you have a chunk like mine! But v good quality material.
Sainsburys seem to be okay but have bobbled a bit.
Mothercare have funny shaped feet!!
Our fave for fit and for the lovely bright colours is definitely Asda
Benjamin is practically grown out of his 3-6 month sleepsuits now (he is 3 months in 5 days time) he is just too long!! I said I would go for separates next time but sleepsuits are great when it is warm and you can just pop them down with no sleeping bag or blanket...I worry that separates may ride up whilst he fidgets.
