3 - have the mothercare ones got precious stones sewn into them or something ? ;)

We are back from the doctors with eye drops. Baby is getting fed up with having her eye bathed. And she won't eat food she liked yesterday (no problem with pudding though - that's my girl :rotfl:). I'm hoping she will want a nice long nap this afternoon, as I'm starting to feel grotty too.

Good luck with the injections everyone.

Weezl - I think your topic suggestion is fab but be careful not to give away all your secrets (or where you find them ;)) if all your new mummy friends come on here you will have no secrets left!!

Feelie - where are you and how are you?

Bec - I wanna holiday like yours!!

Sleep - Benjamin has only managed 5 or so hours for the last 2 nights and getting him down in the evening has been hard work...dreaded 12 week growth spurt maybe? Or just the change in the weather again?

McSmiler - the book I have is just a top-tips book, designed to tempt you into buying the full version I guess. I explains the 45 min thing, says babies need to be able to make a transition from one stage to the next but the only explanation it gives is that parents step in too quickly thinking that baby is waking when it isn't. Benjamin often opens his eyes, looks around, smiles then carries on sleeping! He also goes through periods of fiddling/fidgetting/kicking/thrashing his head about and generally making noise when he is actually still asleep. Some snoring noises from hubby helps to sooth him :D
Edit: I think AF has the full Baby Whisperer book...will ask her what it says.

MrsT - I found the being squeezed out of bed was more tiring than putting Benjamin back down after a feed...as soon as I started putting him back in his own bed the better I slept...although he never stayed up til 1.30am  You must be shattered!

Careful the conjunctivitis doesn't spread ladybird - you will end up passing it between you. Poor little lamb!

We've got 3 month injections tomorrow boo hiss

We've done the big toddle and Eloise has a certificate and a medal to prove it!

Sleepsuits, the mothercare ones are lovely but not worth the money IMO, we have next and mothercare ones here all bought in the sale so ended up the same price as the cheapies, I like them cos they have the foldy over bit on the cuffs so you don't need to bother with scratch mitts and they don't wake up cos their hands are cold.

3onitsway, have you thought about getting a photo mug for fathers day from photobox? we got one for grandads birthday and he thinks its the best pressie he's ever had.

Weird news here, my OH was brought up by a stepdad, his real dad left when OH was 6months old and hes' never seen him since except at his 'real' grandmas funeral when he came up to OH and said 'so we meet at last' which went down like a ton of bricks, anyway we got a phone call to say that his 'dad' has died suddenly. OH hasn't said much yet except to say that he couldn't care less cos he didn't know him. Wonder how long it will be before it hits home that he'll never know him now?

    Hope you followed that!

We have a tommee tippee sensor mat that sits under fergie whilst asleep to monitor his breathing and movements, but I've often said to OH that's great, but would we know what to do if the alarm went off!?
    PANIC! :rotfl:

Seriously, that's what my best friend did when she went to wake her baby (which she very rarely did!) and found he wasn't breathing.

She screamed, picked him up and he started again. So THEN she called 999 and went off to hospital with him.

And she was a Health Visitor. ;)

They never found out what was wrong: he was given a tummy monitor and had a few episodes after that (fortunately not when I was in charge!) and he's now a strapping about-to-graduate student. The only explanation they could give is that a very very small number of babies 'forget' to breathe when they're asleep, and picking him up and screaming 'reminded' him.

I'm sure the proper resus techniques will reassure you however! :rotfl:

I knew I would forget something!

CBeebies - not much of it seems to interest Benjamin (although he loves watching Cricket and Football with his Dad ) but he seems to get all excited at Boo!

So I have series linked it on Sky+ to make sure there is always something I can put on when I need to go to the loo etc :o

ETA - god I hope I am not pregnant again!! No period yet and I have just made myself a fishfinger and mushy-pea sandwich :o We've been mostly careful :o

We seem to enjoy the theme tune at the end of Thomas The Tank, and she found Pocoyo amusing this morning.

I'm so out of touch with CBeebies - we've been strictly a CBBC house for a few years now.

Keely and millie I presume you've done your big toddle, hope the rain stayed off for you.

Becles sounds like you all had a fab time, Bob will be glad to see you.

    Millie nice pic

Emlou El got a funny white bit on her top lip it was like a blister right in the middle, is that what Seths is like?

ladybird Hope Izzy is ok, that really isn't nice

3 I buy Asda ones and think there fine.

As for TV programmes I record all the animal ones and play them back as she just loves it, you hear her sitting making all the noises, it's very cute

hope all the jabs have gone well, it's not nice but needs must.

Feelie has your HV contacted you today, if not please please please give her a call or get someone to do it for you. Ok now I've said that how are you?

Matalan sleepsuits are quite good if I remember rightly and have the foldy-over scratchmitts, which are fab. Otherwise it's Asda or M&S in the sale for us.

Just counting down the hours at work. Going on my leaving do tonight for a few drinks and to GBK (with BOGOF vouchers - v MSE!). Looking forward to just putting my feet up though.

Right, boss has e-mailed with a bit of work, so off to do that - they are still paying me after all!!

Sami - hope you're doing okay?
Feelie - let us know how you are!
