YAAAAAY! After a fidgety baby last night I left her with daddy to have a late feed by bottle (EBM) and he changed her a couple of times (that's my girl - clean nappy - POOOOO :rotfl:) then she slept in her basket for quite a while (no clock on my side of the bed) and when she woke up I checked her nappy - no poo so decided to just feed her and see if she'd nod off again - and she did in our bed :j :j :j - she then slept through till just gone 7 and we've been up since :) So a good night in all! Whoop whoop!
Saying that - about to go change a nappy lol

MM - why not save them up for birthday party bags/halloween? But leave them out so it's obvious you're not using them up, and maybe she will get the message eventually once the mountainous pile starts overfowing out of the room ;)

MrsT - we have just bought the now cry sleep solution book (can't remember who it is by) which has some helpful suggestions - might be worth seeing if they have it in the library?

Elizabeth Pantley, I've got it, it's fab. Celia still doesn't sleep much I just don't feel bad about it after reading the book so you know! Whatever gets you through!

does anyone have any advice to help little ones not waking themselves up when they fling their arms about (other than swaddling - as i do that when it's not too warm)

We found moving her into her cot helped as when she starfished she didn't thwack her arms against anything! Other than that Himself often gently held her hands until she was properly asleep (and still does now sometimes when she's unsettled). They grow out of it eventually though!

caz thats awesome for not even trying, do you think its the BF? i keep looking in the mirror and thinking "if only i could have BF'd i'd surely be skinny by now" lol

Not necessarily, afaik your body stores fat when you're breastfeeding just in case you starve (which in my case means not getting to the biscuit tin in time) so it can still run your milk production factory. Bfing does burn calories but you ain't never gonna look like Kate Moss! (Well not solely from bfing, particularly if you've always got one hand in the biscuit tin because you're so bloody hungry! :o)

It's actually been decided that there's no real 'fore milk' and 'hind milk' anymore, just that the composition of the milk changes throughout the feed from thin to fatty and sometimes back again... It can take different lengths of time for the fatty milk to come through too

I read a brilliant article likening it to a hot tap, it takes a while for the fat bubbles to get through (they get stuck in the milk ducts) and it gets gradually fattier as you feed. But like a hot tap is still hot after a while your milk is still fatty when you come back to that side and it gradually goes back. It's amazing stuff really isn't it!

I know it's too late to 'save' emlou but just thought I'd say, parasols for pram's are stupid and pointless :o
If you want to buy something specialist for the job, try a canopy or a shade-a-babe cover. otherwise you'll spend your day out stopping every 10 steps trying to wrestle the parasol into a good position to shade baby as its very rare that you'll walk in a straight line so every bend or turn in the road the sun moves and requires the parasol moving too :p

i tried one of them in mothercare but the top of the buggy pulls right over as far as half of the canopy IYSWIM so we went for the parasol option as its only a small area we need covering.
this is it, we got it as part of a travel system in the boxing day sale for £130 :D ours is red, it looks a bit naff but it is brilliant http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Atlan-pushchair-Nimbus/dp/B000T6XQWY when he's in the car seat bit the buggy hood meets the car seat hood so nothing is needed at all, but it got too hot in there in the sun with not enough air and him being all scrunched up so we put him in the buggy bit (it lies flat) when we took him to the sealife centre and he loved being able to see what was going on. we now need fish to park him in front of for when the baby gym doesnt entertain him enough :rotfl:
i dont really do a lot of walking, i live in the middle of nowhere so tend to drive everywhere - i walked into town the other day when i was feeling energetic and it took 50 mins :eek:
and it was very MSE ;)
http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=53331&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051 but for some reason it only cost £4 plus £2.89 postage the other day  i obviously did it at the right time for once :p

how do you do a link that doesnt take up the entire page?!

I have to say that the fancy £25 parasol we had to buy for the iCandy is as Sami said... the biggest waste of money EVER! Firstly it's annoying that you have to move it every 5 seconds as you walk - but in doing so it usually comes off despite being specifically designed to fit the iCandy! ARGH! Trying to decide whether to sell it on fleabay or take it back to the shop though hmmmmmm
I know I'll end up stomping on it in a fit of rage if I carry on trying to use it!

Ladybird, leaving them out is not an option, millie is 5 and would be able to get to them and would end up looking like emlou's avatar!

Sunshade debate, someone has given me a shade-a-babe and I can't use it because Ello doesn't like not being able to see out, going to get a kiddoptomus rayshade, I've had a go with a friends and they are genius.
