nursing to sleep is eady, but i'm aware that it's creating bad habits for later

(I'm replying as I see posts my brain no longer stores things!) Getting themselves to sleep is a developmental milestone like walking and talking. They'll get around to it when they're ready. afaik there's actually a chemical in breastmilk that sends them to sleep!

But, having said that I know that just waiting until they do it themselves is not right for everyone but you shouldn't feel bad about nursing her to sleep for the time that you do do it (iyswim!)

Can't remember who said about weight at birth I was in hospital a week so she was weighed daily, she never lost any weight she just kept gaining and stayed on the 91st centile :p another gold top producer here:rotfl:

Susan hope the move has been straight forward I'm dreading it when it comes round, I know Dh and I will fall out:mad: but of course it will be coz he is doing everything wrong:rotfl:

Krystal I was so glad once the button fell off I hated cleaning it, it was horrible!!!

Weezl good for you, they are great places and older kids will always be inquizitive (sp) I never worried about El lying on the floor even if there was older kids but if they got rough I just explained that El was little and to be gentle and 9 times out of 10 they understand. I hope you can keep going as it's good for you and fergie.

caz I hope abis fingers are ok, I'm sure the plasters worked there magic lol. Congrats on the weight lose to:T

    Sami Happy anniversary

Is it someones birthday "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" if it is

Ok TMI I had my period and El always follows me to the toilet of which I don't have a problem. She likes to watch me pee which I think is good as it shows her what she has to do when the time comes. Anyway I use tampons and she kept pointing at the string. I put my legs together but she just kept pulling them apart so she could see the string pmsl:rotfl: I think she was a bit bewildered as to why it was hanging there. She is also the kid that likes to pull any thread she sees dangling so I was reading her thoughts about the tampon

90% of the time Chris needs his warm milk as his cue to go to sleep. I personally don't think its a problem, until about 2 months ago he needed it 100% of the time so I think he's weaning himself off it, cleverly just in time for potty training to come along later :D

thanks for all your tips guys - DH and I will formulate a plan for tonight when he gets home. I am a believer in controlled crying and we'll be trying that at some point - I just think that she's still a little small right now - so will try and break the waking up after 45min habit first???

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ladybird - have a lovely evening x

sami - enjoy your balloon :D

    Susan C - we'll miss you!

Weezle - I'm glad it went well - I am off to brave a new mother and baby group next Friday morning so you've spurred me on a bit.

    right best get on.....

well done on the baby group weezl, i think i'm a bit like you only i'm too scared to actually go to one :o i'll sit on here and babble on to anyone that listens but actually speaking to proper people is a bit weird to me :o i'm quite happy with my close friends, i just need them to have children and i'll be sorted lol

caz thats awesome for not even trying, do you think its the BF? i keep looking in the mirror and thinking "if only i could have BF'd i'd surely be skinny by now" lol

i'm so fed up today, having a silly day of questioning myself and thinking i cant cope. i blame OH, he's off out to dinner tonight, i normally look forward to him coming home after work cos it means i get a bit of a break even if i do only cook and clean, and i've spent all day waiting in for a buggy parasol which only turned up half an hour ago so feeling a bit sorry for myself! i hate it when you order something and they say it will be between the hours of 7am and 7pm, it always turns up either bang on 7am when you're still in bed or really late in the day when you've given up on it completely!

now caz you go gently on that there dieting, cos with 2 babies in a year your body might be a bit depleted of iron and other nutrients, so promise you won't cut back too heavily on food? I've been reading up on iron levels recently!:D

ps can I please ask for some advice about weaning etc...

my kitchen floor is old victorian tiles, and bits of food get kinda lodged in the spaces between them. I was wondering whether you thought me getting a big square of lino to go under the table and chairs would be a good idea?

    Weezl xxx
