ooh AF that reminds me you didn't post your birth story, would you care to share yet? don't worry if you don't want to but you know the pregnant ladies love a story - I even started a thread devoted to them! :)

oh sami i knew you would pick up on the fact that i didn't post my birth story. i too love reading a birth story. before having my little one they used to make me cry cause i was scared, now they make me cry becuase i know how wonderful it is (maybe not the birth for some, but what comes after).

feel a bit silly with how my labour went, getting to the hospital so late etc, but i'd still do it all over again

r.mac - i was reading your posts about nursing to sleep. i always do with my little girl. i too have read you shouldn't as it bring problems later on but there are three reasons why i do... the least important, my hubby works nights and she sleeps in our room so i can't put her in the crib crying as hubby is sleeping before he goes to work, i am not sure if she is old enogh yet to go off on her own all the time and thirdly and most importantly, i am never going to get this time back with her and you never know what tomorrow holds and i always what to know i showed her all the love it could.

i appreciate others see it differently, and may think i will suffer the consequences later but i want to cherish ever minute i have with her.

i am getting better and putting her back in her crib after during the night feeds (when she has them) rather than keeping her in bed with me

    oh sorry, a question....

does anyone have any advice to help little ones not waking themselves up when they fling their arms about (other than swaddling - as i do that when it's not too warm)

:rotfl: so what's my excuse? OK, so I know it's at least 16 years since I STOPPED breastfeeding, but I don't think I lost ANY weight then! :rotfl:

my kitchen floor is old victorian tiles, and bits of food get kinda lodged in the spaces between them. I was wondering whether you thought me getting a big square of lino to go under the table and chairs would be a good idea?
I had a thickish plastic table cloth, even on a 'normal' floor, but definitely recommend it because if it's a real mess but you're in a hurry to clean up baby, you can fold the plastic up around the base of the high chair without stepping in the food.

And for my next tip, j-cloths are brilliant! Get a roll in a different colour to the one you use for wiping surfaces, and use a clean one each meal time. First wipe baby's face and hands, then clean up high-chair tray, then mop up floor, then throw in washing machine ...

Oooo we still have healthy (well...) yellow poo so guess that means Alexandra is getting plenty of both fore and hind milk then :) I've been worrying about if she was getting enough hindmilk as she wouldn't stay on long each time yesterday... :)
Well that's one less worry! :D
BTW thanks for your reply Krystal :) I'll reply tomorrow - I'm knackered! Gonna run off to bed I think and leave Euan with the now grouchy baby lol
It's actually been decided that there's no real 'fore milk' and 'hind milk' anymore, just that the composition of the milk changes throughout the feed from thin to fatty and sometimes back again... It can take different lengths of time for the fatty milk to come through too so I wouldn't worry too much about shorter feed times, and as she gets bigger she'll get more efficient at it and a big feed could only take a few minutes anyway... Nappy contents are always a good indication of how they're feeding!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

start as you mean to go on - my auntie always went OTT at xmas and bdays and now cant afford to so feels bad. the kids dont care now theyre older but when they were younger and it was so sudden they thought they had been naughty and mummy didnt love them
TBH I dont think it's that much, and he doesnt get much throughout the year, plus the way i see is I have exactly 6 months between xmas and his birthday to save up for pressies for him.
I am going to so much trouble this year as I want him to feel extra special incase he feels a bit left out cos of the baby, coupled with the fact that OH gave his daughter a little party on her bday.
It's not major, there will be about 6-8 kids there.

AM - I think you've got plenty for Aston's b-day :D I used to a bit like Caz's LO's get the choice of small token gift and a party or bigger gift n a macdonald's tea (it used to be such a treat!! It seams mad now that growing up I had maccy's a maximum of 3 times in one year - I now have it about 3 times a month:o:o)
See we never really had lots of partys, but we'd still get big pressies if we did.
Yeah the Mcdonalds thing, very rare when i was a kid!

I can't even remember there being any McDonalds where I live when I was younger but I did go to the Wimpy for my birthday one year (not a party, just my Mam, sister and me) and thought that was fantastic!

We still don't go to McD's now though as (apart from McFlurry's which I do like) I think the food is horrible. Plus none of us are really burger eaters (when we're out with friends they're always amazed that DD always orders a proper dinner with veg - but veg is her favourite thing). Mind you,now that DS has started going out and about without us I think his weekend lunch is usually bought at Burger King!

Sorry, I missed them yesterday butbelated birthday wishes ladybird, and anniversary wishes Sami!

Thank you for your help kystal, i feel a bit bad picking your brains when you've got your hands full at the moment.

Poo is back to normal so i am putting it down to the previous couple of hot days and snacky feeding.

New problem now what do i do about MIL buying millie a whole sweet shop every week, she came yesterday with a bag of 30 lollies and a bag which had 8 mini bags of sweets in!

i made my feelings quite clear but she just doesn't get it, she said Millie can have one every day, so I said no she can't (and even if she did since when have there been 38 days in a week)

she said she can take them to school and share them with her friends, I said they are not allowed sweets at school

She said millie can share them when she has friends round for tea, I'm not planning on inviting the whole class!

She has been told straight and just ignores what we say (OH has also had a word) I swear she was put on this earth to wind me up!

ETA AF is she in a moses basket or crib? we had the same problem with eloise waking herself up and we ended up moving her into her cot to solve it
