Feelie I say do whatyou feel is right, if you want to carry on then do so.

I must admit I didn't like my health visitor she was older and as long as all the paperwork was filled in she was happy. Wasn't really that concerned bout me. Thank goodness though we got a two new ones now who are lovely not that I seem them very often.

I only really go or call them if I'm concerned about anything. Not sure when she was last weighed actually that has given me a thought I might go to drop in clinic tomorrow and get her weighed , sounds like a plan......

MrsT your entitled to go to bed early now and then that is what daddys are for..

well i have sat in all day wiating for my HV to come out and she hasnt even bothered to phone or anything. its not 3pm and she was to be here at 11.30 am not impressed as it took a lot for me to ask her to come out as im struggling:(
i have a mountain of ironing to do and have spent half the day looking for car keys, eventually found in the garden. not had any lunch so going to grab something quick and make a start:(

as for the tights we tried but he screamed until we took them off, but i dont like socks unless my feet are freezing so he prob gets it from me!

sami i wouldnt worry about the milk thing if he was going to be ill he would have been sick by now lol!!

Elliot is driving me potty today, nothing is making him happy and i'm so fed up. I'm hoping it's just another tooth about to appear or something. He's so tired but so far has only had half hour nap :( He cries when i change his nappy, just wants to roll over and play. The only time he's been happy is when i gave him lunch-typical bloke lol.

I need to go out tomorrow and do something, even if it's just to my moms so she can entertain him for a bit before i go insane!

    *yawn*

Izzy is being a pickle today, but only if I leave the room - once I twigged that she was happy to sit in her bouncy chair I've been able to wash up (while singing to her!) and peel some veg which is now cooking and will then be pureed :) I've got a busy few days coming up, as it is my birthday on Friday, and so we are doing stuff every day from Thursday-Sunday, so I thought I'd best get prepared in advance, or she will be having banana for every meal ;)

Mind you, she has also managed to poo (with lots of grunting and moaning) so that probably helped too. Now lets see if she will let me hang the washing out?!

Caz - what on earth were your keys doing in the garden?!!! And grrrr to the HV - can't you call the doctors and check if she is still coming? They do sometimes have to reschedule if someone is having a dire emergency, but it would be nice of them to tell you!

I went to the fabric shop today and bought 1.5 metres of muslin to drape over the front of the pushchair to keep Izzy out of the sunshine. Oh, and she has today discovered how to take her hat off (it is tasty aparently ;) )
I sewed elastic onto Alice's sunhat to keep it on. She can take it off but doesn't too often. The first time we went out with her new one it was windy and kept being blown off with a little assistance but since I've sewen the elastic on she always holds onto it with two hands shouting, "Windy, hat" whenever it's windy.
Guilty, although it was her choice not mine. El is out every morning for a walk with the dog. I just had my hoodie on and she requested a thick jacket I showed her a thin one but she was adamant it was the thick one so to save any hassle I put it on her but left it open, it's not so bad tho coz she still has her pjs on.
I hid Alice's wooly hat in the roasting tin when we were packing for that reason.
An idea for anyone else who has a car-seat that goes on top of their buggy frame we have taken to walking out to meet daddy on his way home from work...as long as the route is pre-agreed we just walk towards him until he finds us and brings us home :D
I usually find OH doesn't see me even when it's pre-agreed. He usually looks the wrong way and drives past while I jump up and down waving my arms in the air.

I was driving within 2 weeks with both of them too, 6 weeks on no driving, i doubt it!
I don't know as I didn't have a CS but isn't there some issue with insurance when driving after a CS?

    susanc, quick EC related question:

does the heat affect LOs ability to 'read' their own bodily signals?

Fergie never lets me know about wees, but always just before a poo. But yesterday after giving bottled water in all this heat, wham, an unexpected poo moment! Took us both by surprise! And my nice clean trousers :)

Hope you are all loving your new house

    Weezl x
I can't say I've ever noticed a particular difference with Alice with the heat but heat affects everyone differently. Having extra water because of the heat could have made a difference though? I know with Alice increased poo misses are generally associated with what she's eaten and I think people give bottle fed babies extra water to help with constipation so it could be that his insides were more lubricated than usual.

The new house is lovely but absolutely jam-packed with boxes at the moment. The plumber came to do the pipework for the dishwasher (which was given by my mum's collegue who had replaced it with a larger one) and OH is connecting it now while I am over here to work on the wallpaper in Alice's old room. I'm so excited to finally have a dishwasher - washing up is my least favourite job.

Feel a little better today, had a better day milk production wise. Feel a bit confused about feeding though - Health Visitor thinks I should give up expressing, as does OH. It does take a lot of time and effort to do it, but its the only thing I feel I've got control over, and the only thing I'm managing to do right. It probably isn't all that good to be so obsessed, but I'd feel worse if I didn't have it I think.

Are HV's supposed to be clued up on PND? I found it strange that she didn't ask any of the usual questions - she didn't ask if I had any suicidal/self-harming thoughts, or if I liked the baby or anything like that.
With expressing I think you should go with what you think is best because if you choose based on other people's opinions you might regret it and end up annoyed with them about it.

I didn't get asked the PND questions until Alice was 12 weeks and the HV came to talk about weaning. I was a bit annoyed afterwards as she didn't actually tell me what it was - she just said she had a questionaire for me and started asking the questions. That may have been because she thought I'd done it before though as she thought she'd done it at the one month visit but I never had one because she was off sick the day she was meant to come.

We're all doing great jobs :) I'm knackered, worn out, sore and emotional... the last bit is SO not me and therefor the most worrying to me :)
I think the last bit is normal when you've just had a baby regardless of what you're are normally like - it's all the hormones.

And now I'm going to go and actually do the stuff I'm meant to be doing instead of being on MSE...

Is it just Alexandra that is grouchy today? I think it's the heat myself as she's only just started to settle down - I think this Fischer Price Jungle Swing thingy is going to be the best £30 I have ever spent - she seems to like it and is currently snoozing in it :j :j :j

Still feeling quite tired it has to be said... hmmmm might need another early night :)
