Lucky girl! MW commented on my strong stomach muscles last week (how chuffed was I?!) and I joked that I'll be leaving hospital with my baby as a size 8 - having been a 12 before I got pregnant. Well, I can dream...

Caz - Izzy loves fennell tea (cooled down, obviously!) but not sure if it would be suitable for a teeny one.

Izzy had a fright earlier - went to the market and the man started yelling about strawberries (as they do!) while i was buying veg, and made her jump out of her skin. She started screaming - not just crying, but proper screaming - so I had to stop and feed her. Then I changed her on the park bench we were sat at, and she gave me a scare rolling off it. I caught her in mid air! Time to limit changing to the floor or places I can strap her in I think!

Is anyone else having trouble getting baby to eat in this hot weather. Izzy is having less milk than normal, and is hardly touching solids either. She had 3 mouthfulls of lunch, so I've puy it back in the fridge to try again later. She doesn't want to drink anything either, which is a bit more worrying!

    Hello lovely ladies!

Its been a-g-e-s since I last logged on as we have been super busy in Camp SB. I've got a new Apple Mac too so I'm not using my lappy now - it was just too tempting and I never got anything done! :rotfl:

I haven't had a chance to read back much but lots of love to Elle and Rhys.

We have the Petite Star Zia and quite like it. It mainly used by my Mum now that we have the Phil and Teds but we bought it as it was rated highly and apparently similar to one of the Quinnys but reclines and fold really small.

We're off to Spain in the morning and I'm still not ready and packed! If anyone has any quick and handy tips for travelling with children I would be most grateful!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sun!

    xx

MrsT is it too late to do it online now? if you need a paper document are you allowed to use a fax?

ooh noo just realised our car is 3 this year so will need MOT - booo!

Caz - would Erin tolerate a cold damp flannel on her to keep cool?

Ladybird - I wouldn't worry too much, us mums tend to forget that when we're hot we don't eat as much do we? (well if I wasn't pregnant I'm sure I'd eat less lol) babies are just the same, they get hot n bothered too, I found it was best to feed Chris whatever I was fancying which was usually fruit from the fridge like cold mashed banana or juicy melon and got more sucsess than with a warm veg thing

SB - you sound like me!! I'm always running round like a blue bottomed fly the night before we go on holiday! as long as u have sun cream, bottles, steriliser and milk I'm sure you'll get by tho :D
yours are both young enough to sleep through the flight tho - lucky you I'm dreading getting to switzerland in January - 6mth baby and 3yo toddler, 3ish hours on a plane then 3.5hrs train and coach!!! I do love MIL for not checking that bit before booking! (can't complain too much as they are paying for flights and accom tho)

We're flying to California in 2 weeks  will be Elijah's first time in a plane, and having really mastered crawling and pulling himself up on things in the last few weeks he has been desperate to move and poke things he can see allll the time, I am very scared of how he'll handle an 11 hour flight! The journey home should work with his bedtime, but the journey there, not so much.
  • SB - you are psychic! I just wrote on your FB and came back and you had posted here lol!

Holiday tip? Don't forget calpol or whatever you normally use. That is one thing I wouldn't like to buy whilst abroad...medicines are often stronger than over here.

Weezl - whenever you see a mummy with a pram stop and talk to them! Conversation is easy - 'how beautiful is your son/daughter' 'does s/he sleep' 'how are you coping in this heat' - and you might get on!
Joining a mum and baby group helps too...if it is a 'learning' one suggest you all go for a coffee/walk in the park afterwards.

And remember, your baby might not seem the same age as a 6, 8 or 10 month old now but when they are a bit older the age gap will get smaller IYSWIM.

Ladybird El isn't eating much either really off her food, I'm just giving her snack bits on the table so she can help herself (oh so can the dog)!!!!! I know Izzy is to young for snacky bits so I really wouldn't worry about it. She'll eat when she wants.
