I'm definitely a slummy mummy today - I had last nights chips for breakfast, and have been sat around in my muddy allotment clothes since this morning because I can't be @rsed to get dressed properly. I'm still wearing my posh neclace from yesterday too, and I'm not sure if I brushed my hair, so it's all a wonderful combination!

Sorry to hear about all your pets :( when our first hamster died we were in the middle of moving, and I was really stressed already, so it was the straw that broke the camel's back, and I was destraught. I had to keep running away to the loo to cry at work, as I didn't want anyone to know why I was upset, as I was embarassed being so upset over a hamster! It's weird what a space even a hamster can leave. When SPG died Izzy was only a few weeks old, and I didn't have any emotions left to be particularly upset about it, I just felt guilty for not being upset! We will get another one at some point, but I know we don't have the time/energy to devote to handling one every day etc... It can wait till Izzy is old enough to benefit from having a pet I think :)

Oh, I almost feel like a proper mum.. we had explosive poo earlier! :o There's OH with Rhys' legs and bum in the air, dabbing away with the cotton wool, and I'm holding up all the lines and wires out of the way, when Rhys lets out a really loud blast of wind, complete with explosive poo - and all I can do it shrek in surprise and drop all the wires very close to the result! :o OH was not impressed.. :(

He's making progress but has now developed reflux too so is on new meds for that.. Just swapping one problem for another at the minute!

Hi Elle - poor Rhys. reflux on top of everything else :(

That used to be Izzy's favourite trick - pooing/weeing/both when she was half way through being changed. Normally on Daddy's hand! We had her playing with her nappy off at the weekend at Granny's (on a care mat, luckily!) when she did the most massive poo, and then proceeded to roll around in it as much as she could before I could get to her, so she was COVERED. I ended up taker her upstairs to hose her down under the shower. Then someone turned on the cold tap, and I ended up scalding her with hot water, so had to hose her down with cold, which made her scream even more and wiggle out of my hands - luckily I was only holding her a couple of inches above the (empty) bath, so no harm done! It's a good thing she's not old enough to resent me for these things really . None of you work for social services do you .

aww, don't worry if you laugh at this story - at the time I was distraught but have learned to laugh now.
When I was about 13 My dog killed my hamster :(
I had one of those snazzy plastic 'cages' with tube that came off the main bit. I used to put in halfway up the stairs (they had a bend so was wide step) at night because she was very active, it was summer so in the morning we left the doors open and roxy sneaked in and knocked off one of the attachments, silly hammy made a run for it but Roxy was a good hunter and caught her, she then dutifully and proudly dropped her at my dads feet :undecided
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
