We had a little tantrum at bedtime tonite but I think she was over tired, knackered with the heat and had only slept for 30 mins when she normally sleeps for 1 1/2 hours sometimes more. Anyway I put her down and she normally chats away to herself which she did like usual tonite she can normally do it for an hour but after 20mins she started crying and banging her head on the wall which isn't like her so I went to check on her and she had thrown ALL (about 25) cuddlys out of her cot. I picked them up put them back in gave her, her 2 fave ones, only said goodnight came out and 20mins later she was asleep!!

NadI have avery clingy LO she is gettin better but she is defo a mummys girl

MrsT She is now a real person congrats

why would you think that?! we live in a detached house in middle of country and i'd wager it can be just as stressful as living in a semi in town! course theres a lot of room so when Oz is being a clingon clingy clingerson like today its good cos i can put him in the sunroom for 5 or 10 minutes and go and have a quick session of deep breathing to calm myself.

does anyone else have a 1yr old who is super super clingy - like I mean i cant even leave the room and he goes mental driving me crazy.:o

Tom is 16 months and has just started to become slightly less clingy - mostly so that he can get up to no good. he has always been an especially clingy child though, has always wanted to be picked up and hang round my legs. Even now, he's like a litle shadow. On the bright side it means he's learning all the time - he has wanted to put teabags in the cups when I make tea for ages, he tries to put dirty cups in the dishwasher, he takes clothes out of the washing machine and tries to hang them up, he cleans the floor (with a teatowel but nevermind), he puts his own seat and toys inthe bath and after I came out of the shower yesterday I had this demonstration from DS:

DS: Mam, Tom can make toast. Watch! Tom, shall we make some toast?
(Tom goes in the cupboard and hauls out the toaster. DS puts it on the worktop.)
    DS: Tom, where's the bread?
(Tom points to the breadbin and with the help of DS gets out some bread.)
DS: Where do we put it?
(Tom puts the bread in the toaster)
    DS: Tom, get the butter.
(Tom goes off to the fridge and gets out the butter. DS butters the toast and the two boys quite happily share the toast)

It's not illegal as long as he gets well paid :rotfl:
Kisses as cuddles don't count as payment ;)

I have a different kind of stimulation for your LO, it is especially good if there is members of the family they don't see often.
I think I made Els one up when she was about 7 months.
Get a cheap photo album put in photos of all the family, pets, fave zoo animals etc and it is great. You can sit down and go thru who each person/animal is. El is now 17 months and she still takes it to me to go thru 3-4 times a day!!

Off to visit inlaws later. They aren't impressed by baby, he sleeps the whole time we are there. Despite being passed round and poked, he has never opened his eyes. Normally, he only has brief 20 minute naps during the day, as he sleeps at least 10 hours at night. Its because it is so warm there. He doesn't stir even when only wearing a vest. Any ideas? His Dad isn't that well, and I don't really want to ask them to turn the fire off!

Could it just be the inlaws?
For around the first 10 weeks, Violet fell asleep and stayed asleep every time MIL visited! :rotfl:She's manages to stay awake now, and giggles as soon as she sees MIL, which annoys my mum as she cries every time she sees her!

Its so warm in this stupid house tonight. Grobag egg thingy is saying 26 degrees! She's up in her moses basket in just a babygrow, no vest and no blanket - do you all think thats ok?

Tom has been wearing only a babygrow for the last few nights. I remember this time last year having all the windows open trying to get the grobag egg thingy to drop a few degrees - I used to be fairly paranoid about the temperature.

Love the photo album idea. might make one up as it might stop Tom's demands of being carried up and down stairs to look at the pictures of DD and DS all up the stairs!

Thats the thing choc the grobag egg is handy for telling you the temp, but how are we meant to lower it? Windows are open - i'm dreading the proper summer, the bedrooms are dreadfully hot. (But damn freezing in the winter!)
