At a couple months old, we were meeting a friend at a park cafe for brunch; she took Elijah and was cuddling him and bouncing him on her knee quite happily as we chatted.

A while into the conversation our friend complained about the orange juice the previous patrons had spilt on the table.

A while later, we realised what the orange juice was, and that it had been slowly leaking and oozing out over her legs the whole time we had been sitting there.....

Oz seems to be a different kinda clingy than everyone else's LOs - if its just him and me he's round my legs, wanting up, moaning and crying and won't amuse himself at all (or rarely), but if ANYONE else is around he is the perfect happy gorgeous little boy and plays away and is smily and laughing - so no one other than OH knows what he's like with just me, its very frustrating. I'm not sure why he's like this!

Well, it was a windy day and we were sitting outside, I guess it wasn't immediately obvious :p and you know how younger baby poo smells... different.

looking for a recommendation - i need a lightweight buggy that is small when folded - i want to leave it in boot of my car. I have the Quinny Buzz but its cumbersome and we use it for going on country walks at home so is often filthy (not nice for going round shops!). I've ben looking at the Quinny Zapp which is down to £90 on kiddicare (excellant!) but it doesnt have a recline and some reviews have been bad. Anyone recommend anything?

    Wet, runny, poo :(
  • em - I daren't warm my own coffee in the microwave for fear of burning myself so bottles are a complete no-no!

Sue - its breastmilk so is kept in the fridge. We occasionally give a carton of formula which supposedly can be served at room temperature but Benjamin wouldn't take it cold when we tried.

Hearing your stories of clingy babies makes me more determined to make sure Benjamin gets a bit more sociable, starting with leaving him with MIL for a few hours this evening ;)

I am loving the photo album idea :D I worry about Benjamin remembering my mum and dad if I am honest (they live 90 mins away so we don't see them that often). Not helped by my ignoramous of a father who said to my mum at Benjamins first moan last time they visited 'he doesn't recognise you, he hasn't got a clue who you are' I'm angry now, at the time I was in tears (and every time I thought about it for a while after)

Where has SB been hiding? I haven't seen her on here or FB for ages

Edit - LOL just logged into facebook and the first post I see belongs to SB!!

Nad, that was the kind of clingy Chris was around Oz's age, I found he grew out of it eventually but in the meantime it was a mix of ignoring him and him having a paddy, distracting him with a toy/book/tv and giving in and carrying him around.

my only suggestion for prams would have been the zapp or I think the petite star zia or something (it looks very like the zapp not sure if it reclines) Micralite make a funny looking biggy that folds very small but I've only ever seen it in the flesh once and all I noticed was that the bumper bar was too high up

MFD - Chris got the Tomy forget-me-not talking photo album for Christmas (its not exactly cheap for a photo album) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tomy-Discovery-Forget-Photo-Album/dp/B0019RC632
I must confess I haven't got around to setting it up with photos and getting people to record the messages tho :o
