Krystal - I ended up giving Roo the gripe water in a bottle with a teat :) as she knows what they are for it was much easier - a little puzzled at the odd taste but she chugs it down now :)

Caitlyn is still wailing... Have tried the gripe water again but think I'm going to give in on that, she completely choked on it and couldn't get her breath for a minute...

Kristal we used to use the pipette from an infacol bottle to give fergie his gripe water, 3 full pipettes is the 5 ml serving. He used to cope loads better with that than the spoon...

    sounds good glam,

I started at 32 weeks though and stopped at week 40 (cos he popped out on due date!) I did drink a few afterwards wondering if they'd help with uterine contraction back into shape... ;)

    HOw's the GD now?

    Thanks Weezl, KT and MrsT
GD is not going well, I've got diabetic clinic on Weds so I'm hoping to learn more about what I can and can't eat. I've been checking my own blood sugars and they are always out of the range

Due to risk of premature babies with GD, I think I'll wait until 34 weeks just to be on the safe side ;) (don't want to tempt fate!)
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

I've had no joy with her taking milk from a bottle today so I doubt gripe water would go down very well... I literally dribbled a tiny bit under her tongue while she had her mouth open in a wail and it took her breath away... I don't think is worth trying again...

Think she's finally settled in my arms... Managed to read Aimee's bedtime story, then hubby rang and I couldn't hear what he was saying because Aimee was sat right next to me talking loudly to herself (the girl never shuts up) I had to ask her to be quiet 3 times before she listened to me, then he asked me what we were having for tea... And I burst into tears... It was just a step too far!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hi Glam - I loved RLT and drank tons of the stuff (was having about 6 cups post EDD!!!) Didn't work for me!!

Glam, you can drink the left over bags afterwards to help your uterus shrink back again... Or just because...

Caitlyn is still wailing... I tried lying on the sofa with her like I would in bed but she's too busy screaming to feed...

I remember laying on the floor in the living room feeding Benjamin one night because I was determined to spend some time with hubby - as soon as B dropped off I slipped away leaving B on his rug and I got a cuddle with hubby!!

She sure is cute Mrs T!

Congrats searching - I put my jeans on today and fastened my belt one notch smaller than it has been for a while :T it doesn't even feel tight! I will be back in my size 14's soon - YAY!!

I am 5'9'' and quite broad so size 14 is a nice size for me!

Krystal - have you tried swaddling?

Try infacol to calm too - a friend did this post-feed with her little girl. I couldn't, as soon as Benjamin tasted the infacol he was rooting for food!!

And I forgot to send you ((((HUGS))))

Weezl - I remember you saying this before and thinking it was a fab idea...but when I checked the infacol dropper is 0.5ml...so I work out you need TEN (!) to make up a 5ml dose of gripe water!

3 would be easy but TEN!!!

OMG - on This Morning they're talking about a new show about weddings - one cost ..... wait for it..... SEVENTY SEVEN THOUSAND POUNDS!!!!!!!

edit - that's more than we paid for our house and 77times more than my wedding cost!
how did you get married for £1000??? do share, i might need the tips if OH ever gets off his arrse and actually does something about the fact he asked me to marry him 19 months ago and i still dont even have a right
Can I ask when everyone stopped or intends to stop sterlising bottles and boiling the water to make bottles. Some of the information given by health vistot states 6 months and some said 12 months. What about sterlising of dummys - feeding equipment - drinking cup etc? Would love to hear everyone elses opinions.

With DS I honestly cannot remember and with DS2 I sterlised and boiled the water until about 10 months. Does that sound about right. DD1 is only 3 months at the moment so a way off yet.

Also was wondering if most people are following the guidelines and weaning at 6 months.
i plan to sterilise less from 6 months - we have a microwave steriliser and instead of 8 mins i'll bring it down to 7, then 6 etc. i already feel there isnt a lot of point at the moment even as everything goes in his mouth as it is!
I would be fascinated to see how your responses related to mine
you really are a wise woman ;)

Tine Edgar does the full on non stop scream every night  i just have to keep moving until he tires out, i cope well i think as Chris was worse- little monkeys x
when seth does it i give it 10 minutes of full on screaming and then he goes in the bedroom with the door shut for 5 minutes :o then when i go back he is usually so pleased to see me he's forgotten what the fuss was about! it gives me a headache when he screams in my face/arms/lap/next to me so for my sanity i do sometimes feel its the only thing i can do!

Oh and knowing i'm not the only one helps immensely - thought sorry to all those with screaming non sleeping babies!
