Lu - if you want to stay in the UK, this is where we normally go - I'm hoping to go to the Forrest of Dean next year if I get my way (It will be for my 30th, so I should bloody well hope I get to pick where we go for once .) It is within walking distance of the beach if you don't mind walking (probably about a mile), or a easy short drive if you have my DH with you
And there are 2 pools and play areas and kids activities and whatnot.
Poor baby has a bit of a temperature, clingy and won't eat any food. Calpol and mummy Milk to the rescue. Managed to get her to sleep, now must see how much I can get done. If she is as clingy when she wakes up that will be me done for the day I expect! Have a friend coming round at 2 with her little one while her car goes in for an MOT, so need to get a few bits put away if nothing else!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Some of the information given by health vistot states 6 months and some said 12 months. What about sterlising of dummys - feeding equipment - drinking cup etc? Would love to hear everyone elses opinions.
With DS I honestly cannot remember and with DS2 I sterlised and boiled the water until about 10 months. Does that sound about right. DD1 is only 3 months at the moment so a way off yet.
Also was wondering if most people are following the guidelines and weaning at 6 months.
My multi-quote button has gone awol!
I think i sterilised everything until DS1 was one. I'm thinking 6 months this time, but as I type she is in the door bouncer thingy trying to eat the dog every time he passes - so i'm wondering 'whats the point'! The dog won't fit in the steriliser. :rotfl:
My name is Nik and i'm a weaning rebel. We started with baby rice at 4 months & 1 week, when she was drooling and smacking her lips wen we ate. Baby rice wasn't very popular (i don't blame her!), BUT with fruity cereals and mashed carrot, Ican't get it in her mouth quick enough.

r.mac they must think that we are super woman and can do everything and cope with it all? am trying to get on and cant seem to get anything done at the mo? which makes me more stressed out and then having the kids moaning im bored/hungry/etc just sends me boiling? lol at the baby monitor its the kind of thing that do and then get all annoyed with breaking it!
just been over to my neighbours as we are rabbit sitting for them while they go off on holiday, have been in her living room and kitchen before but she just took me round her house and im soooo jealous it is huge and so lovely. luckily if we do get away then the bunny/guinea pig sitting favour will be returned:D
right better make lunch before they all start and drive me crazy. x

Sami - do you like your C4? I'm looking for a new car too. Have about £5k so will need one at least 4 years old and Citroens have come up. Just don't have any experience of them.
!
I've got the grand picasso (7 seater) and I love it!! It was my first Citroen and can honestly say i'd get another in future. In two years i've never had a problem with it (except when I put unleaded in it - its a deisel), its really comfy to drive.OMG OMG OMG... WEDNESDAY!! They've said this morning that they want me to move back in tonight, then we can have the meeting on Wednesday and take him home that afternoon!! (come on, who tipped them off?)
PANIC!! Got to order everything in one go now.. first things first, somewhere for him to sleep!
Brilliant news. :j:T:j:T
Are you mostly excited, or terrified! :rotfl::beer:0 -
Righty.. change of plan - Rhys is now coming home on Tuesday of next week
He needs his jabs and they would prefer to give them here then put him on an oxygen monitor for 24 hours just to be sure he's okay. Thing is, he can't have them until Day 56 and he's only(!) Day 50 today. Jabs on Sunday, monitoring until Monday and by the time he comes off it it will probably be too late in the day to take him home so it'll be Tuesday. A bit disappointing, but at least he's in the best place for after jab monitoring and also it buys us a bit of time to get the house more finished
The consultant actually said "his kidneys are working well" this morning - she never thought she'd be saying that!Levels of the bad stuff they filter out are nearly down to normal
Also found out we won't have to come in twice a week for bloods - the community nurses will do them, plus give the twice weekly jabs he needs. They will also weigh him, and the head scans will go down to once a month so we don't need to come in every week for those. The speech therapist is going to come to us too, so we might not need that yearly car parking pass afterall!
Off to the carpet shop now.. fingers crossed they have a fitting slot on Monday!0 -
Forgot to say, we've planning to go abroad. Max 4 hour flight (i.e. canaries is about as far away as we'd go but it'll be scorching in June!).
Actually had got some jobs done! Washing now drying, furniture cleaned. Just off to sort the dishwasher and make myself decent for DH coming home so we can go to the supermarket. (My 50% slummy time is spent indoors. Am sooo not going to the supermarket in my yoga pants!)MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Lu - well done on doing stuff. I'm managing to as well, I just wish it wasn't because baby is sleeping a big poorly sleepPoor baby. Must [strike]get off the internet[/strike] stop working for a little while and get some lunch though, or I won't be any use to anyone

Elle, I know its not great that you have to wait till next week, but at least you should def be able to take him to your house
It really is great getting them home, even after 13 days, it was so nice to be able to sit and have a cuddle in my own house, if you are even a 10th as happy as I was that 1st night, you will be over the moon
Good luck hunThe two best things I have done with my life
