    evening all,

    AM/Feelie ((hugs)) to you both.

my little girl now weighs 11.4lbs. she will be 10 weeks on saturday (eek.. i cant' believe how quick the time has gone)

mel - sorry to hear kai hasnt put on too much weight. as my little one has been feeding like kai, i was surprised she had put on weight like she did, although they have asked that i get her weighed weekly or fortnightly at the most to keep a check. i have her on the hungry baby formula from aptimal, but have wondered if i put her on their 'normal' first milk whether she would take full feeds and settle better? thoughts anyone??

today she has been very difficult to settle. she has had many naps, but 20 - 30 mins at the most. she has carried on the same tonight. she is very fidgety, her arms and legs keep going mad. not sure why.

hmmm...forgot what else i wanted to say

Big, slightly dodgy hugs to everyone who has not too good things going on in their lives at the moment! :grouphug:

Not fair, I can't see the Facebook pics as I'm not registered on fb - advised not to through work as our council has had to suspend some staf members over things that has been said on there. Plus some of the teachers I work with keep getting friends requests from parents and our Head has expressly said they must not accept them - I wouldn't like that. I think our Head would rather no-one on our staff was on there as she brings it up EVERY single week in the staff meetings - don't think she knows about MSE though ;)
hehe the head of mum's school had a big 'to do' over facebook after some of the Y6's had talked about something one of the teachers had said on there (they had seen it on their mum's FB who was 'friends' with a 'friend' of a teacher) he gave the Y6's a big lecture about it pointing out that they weren't supposed to be on it as they are too young blah blah.
He came in the following day very red faced though as he brought it up at home and discovered his 7yo son had a FB account that he knew nothing about!:p

Lu - you need to copy the public link to share a photo with us, if you go to where ur photo is on FB you'll see it at the bottom of the page it says somthing like this
Share this photo with anyone by sending them this public link: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1844965&l=3a0b22c2c4&id=541141775

I was considering making that suggestion, When Chris was little I only gave him hungry milk before bed and normal 1st milk in the day so maybe worth a go, you could start off with a few cartons of ready mixed in case it doesn't work so you don't end up with a big box of milk left over...

I'm no good at comments on weight gain as Chris's weigh gain is the IMO sensible approach of slow and steady wins the race ;) it was completely normal for him to put on around 1oz in a week or 2. I never expected him to look chubby like most babies because although OH and I aren't like it now, when we were young we were both knobbly kneed twiglets :p

Roo has been fidgety all day too so maybe it's the weather :) Nothing seems to settle her at the moment so hoping she'll be exhausted come bedtime... *fingers crossed* - we're aiming for midnight tonight I think to see some duvets...
Although she did just have a MASSIVE poo so maybe that's why she's been wriggling like a worm? But she's been like it all day

Hi all - up way past my bedtime as it is half term and the mornings aren't quite so pressured at the mo. Had to cancel our half term trip to visit friends as my pals dad is really sick ..so we had a day out to our local safari park today and had a pretty good day and quite mse too as I paid in clubcard deal tokens :T. I think the drive through bit was a bit wasted on the baby though...I spend half the time with him on my knee trying to get him to look at the animals while also making sure he didn't open doors or windows . Still it wasn't bad for a tenner (family ticket 40 quid in deal tokens) and we have a free ticket for next time although I'm not sure if/when we'll use it.

AM, feelie I hope things are ok with you both ...I know the first couple of baby months are particularly stressful but (some) men can be pigs sometimes!!

I would just say the same as Sami - maybe try a few ready made cartons and see how she gets on. I can't remember though, does swopping and changing milk upset their tummies? How long has she been on the hungry on, as I think that one can cause constipation because it is thicker?

The HV wants me to get him weighed every week till he starts gaining again. None of my babies seem to be chubby and Kai isn't either, so really could do with gaining steadily.

He has dropped from the 91st centile to the 50th since birth and the other 2 times he was weighed he stayed around his line (or not far under). I will persevere and she has suggested using a toddler cup if he still won't feed from the bottle today. Last night though, before bed, I am pleased to say he drained a 6oz bottle at 7.30 and slept right through till 7am:) and has just had a 5oz feed. Maybe he heard that he has to be weighed every week so has decided to put on some weight, cos he is not that keen on those scales:rotfl:

That's good Mel - I wisj Izzy would have a lovely big sleep like that, I'm nackered, and no chance of a nap until at least Sunday as we have a busy few days lined up! After bringing her lunch back up and refusing her tea, Izzy wouldn't eat her cerial this morning either. No idea what is the matter (lunch could have been because she didn't like it, but she normally loves her breakfast cerial ) Will keep trying till she gets back into it anyway.

She is still having lots of milk, but I'm back to feeding her pretty much constantly as she is so hungry. All these cuddles are lovely, but I have to do some housework too! (In laws are coming over tonight - I'm not bothered if it is pristine, but we have to be able to get the weelchair down the hallway and into the living room - no chance at the mo!) all this feeding is making me really hungry again too - I'm ready for my lunch already and it's not even half ten!

I found out yesterday that I have a short baby! He was 39cm at birth, not even on the WHO charts! He is now 53cm at 6 weeks. He is heavy though, about 10lbs! So he is a fat, short little thing. What were all your babies at birth, and last measurement?

I'm going out for a babyfree night with OH tomorrow. Hoping to talk a bit, show him that he is still important and its not just all about the baby. Fingers crossed. AM - would time for just the two of you help?
