but if i dont go back we wont have enough money to pay the bills, as we arent entitled to housing benefit or income support or whatever they call it these days - its a case of damned if i do, damned if i dont really

Bummer :( Could you look at a different job? Something that pays more maybe? Sorry don't know what you do/did :)

He also has just asked me if he can go on a soccer summer school for 4 days which costs £60!!! But all his mates are going so it will be 'soooo not fair' if I don't let him go.

Let him earn at LEAST half of it first himself - and I don't mean from you :) it's summer - surely there are people wanting cars washed, lawns mown, some gardening like weeding or even dog walking :) If he can raise say half or £40 of it himself tell him you will pay the rest... :)

ah ha! one of the bets was right then :rotfl:

i did start giving seth some baby rice a couple of weeks ago cos he was wanting feeds every hour and a half and not sleeping, being a grump etc, but he was sick every time i gave him a couple of spoons so i decided to wait til i can ask for advice. but he's still wanting fed every hour and a half and still a grump and still not sleeping lol! also thought it would be easier to wait til we move in 3 weeks cos i'll be leaving him with my nan for a lot of the week to get things sorted and she's already taken to stuffing petit filous down him when i'm not looking  it will be 10x worse if she knows i'm giving him baby food!!

Did you just sneak that in at the end hoping we'd not notice? :rotfl:

If it worked, and he's sleeping through, he was obviously ready for it! You've done this mummy job before - you know whats right for your baby.

We did two weeks of a little baby rice at tea, now we're onto a bit of porrige for breakfast and something veggie and mashed for tea. She's really loving it, and getting excited when she sees the spoon coming - but it hasn't helped with sleeping. (Although last night she did sleep til 6.30am for the first time - hopefully its not a one off!) :D

    :rotfl:Yep:D

It took my friends little girl nearly two weeks to sleep through after she started weaning....She sleeps great now:)

Nearly right...I think it was - putting rice in bottle.

How much is Seth drinking each time?

He is a tad young for that yet, but IF I can find the money for him to go to it, then he will have to do jobs at home to earn it:p

Just had to share my baby's preferred sleeping position! It doesn't look comfy to me. (Hope it doesn't turn out huge!)

Right - off to the dentist now - my least favorite thing!!

How easy is it to not wean before 6 months? If I let DS feed as long and as often as he wants, will that be enough for him?

Wow, I think if you tried a few weeks ago and he was being sick, then it was too early for his system...My sisters friend did this too. She tried her baby at 8wks but he just couldn't stomach it. She left it a while and her HV told her to try again at about 13-14wks....which she did and he was fine on it. He was also feeding very frequently and not sleeping, about 2-3wks after starting him he started to sleep a bit better and regulate his feeds throughout the day too:D
