Aaah SB, you noticed we've been missing, that's lovely of you. My LO was hospitilised due to reflux. Its been getting so much worse and the meds are no longer working. He screams all day and night and wont eat anything as he's associated food and pain. His mouth is red raw with acid burns. At least at last the Dr's are taking the situation seriously and carrying out extra tests. He's under a gastroenterologist paediatrician now 60 miles away so we've been busy travelling back and forth. We're home til friday then back in for further tests on friday.
I do skip most of the thread now as not got time to catch up. However just wanted to say thanks to all of you for support over last few months. I've joine another forum specially for mum's of severe refluxers and I'm getting a lot of support from them also. Good luck to you all especially Elle and Rhys. I think you are wonderful, the way you have remained so upbeat about everything. Its lovely to read your posts and I love hearing that Rhys is coming on so well.
If anyone wants to contact me to ask Q's in future (especially about reflux please PM me as I will stil visit this site every so often)
    All the best and thanks
    xx
ps I'm sure I'll be back when LO is better xx

Thanks so much for letting us know. I had been wondering how LO was getting on and I'm so glad the Dr's are now taking him more seriously. Lots of hugs to you both and please drop in when you can.

    xx

this is something that is really worrying me, seth outgrew his moses basket a few weeks ago and has been sleeping in our bed ever since as we didnt have a cot, we now have a cot but its a cot bed and doesnt fit in our flat so as we move in 3 weeks we're waiting til then. but by then its going to be 6-7 weeks he's been sleeping between us and i reckon he's going to be a complete nightmare to settle and will totally refuse to sleep as he wont be between us :( his day naps are already non-existant unless he is cuddled for the duration and he wakes as soon as we move him slightly!
does anyone have any ideas as to what we can do to ease it? he doesnt self settle at all. is it going to have to be controlled crying until he "gets" it?

I've no advice as such but from what I read on this board co-sleep babies appear to adapt well to moving to a cot.

I have always put mine down whilst awake and in the early weeks sung and talked from my bed just to let them know I was there and gradually they just drifted off on their own.

I'm guessing my singing is real bad as they even sleep through hoovering :rotfl:.

3 - thats interesting as she has been suffering with headaches/ migraines for a little while now and is taking medication for cluster migraines. There hasnt been a pattern yet the first being in january then nothing until middle of May then another in June. She has been having her periods since she was 12 and is still not that regular so she is puzzling us all.

Little Sis was told by the consultant that its a certain type of epilepsy that starts in teenage girls and comes with their hormones! She had her first siezure at about 15, then nothing for 6 months! Then she'd have maybe 5 in a couple of days, and nothing again for months. They messed around with her medication for a few years, trying to find the one that suited her best - but the one she's on now seems to be the right one. She's been on it for about 12 months and has only had 2 fits in that time. Only thing that really pee's her off now is that she has to be fit-free for so long (is it one year or two?) before she can learn to drive. She was just coming up to a year, when she had one last week!
She loves him and is telling everyone he smiled at her ( he had a bit of wind, but shes 6 and I am so letting her have that one :)) !!
She want to give him his bottle later, I said she can help, but not sure if I fully trust her with him yet, might give it a few days !!!

Ah, bless her! My big girl is the best big sister ever to Violet - very helpful with bathing, changing and entertaining. In fact, Violet thinks she's the funniest thing in the world - she just giggles at her for no reason! :rotfl:

Lucky for you lot, we don't appear on webcam. I'm sitting here in my bra and pants - its tooo hot!
