I keep saying to OH 'I must remember to get my oats in the morning' - and he sniggers like a schoolboy!

I know some people are anti-dummy - I am too once the baby is walking around, theres nothing worse than seeing a toddler trying to talk with a slobbery mouth and a dummy hanging out, but............ Violets 'usual' sleep pattern is from 7ish pm til 4ish am. A couple of times she's woken at 12ish, or 2ish, and i've popped her dummy in while I run off for a wee before feeding her and she's fast asleep when I get back, so i'm assuming she just needed a suck!

Morning everyone....not had time to catch up but had a really busy time as i had family to stay. Im shattered.

Rose is still feeding every 2 hours and was 6 weeks yesterday. Going to get her weighed today. She was 5lb 8oz last week. I can see a change in her this week too.

Elle....I think the heat in the hospital makes them sleepy. Rose would sometimes feed really well but sometimes just sleep. I found she fed easier in the middle of the night, but i was still in hospital at the time. I know you're home now so that wont be as easy.

Hope everyone has a good day and Happy Birthday for yesterday Sami x

I hate to think what it must be like on that ward in the summer when it's really hot.
one of the factors in me choosing a home birth was not having to withstand that heat! :) Chris was born in Jan and I was roasting on the ward and kept getting told off for opening the window
Just had a horrible time at the doctors, I went for a smear and a coil fit at the same time, thought i would get all the indignity out of the way in one go!

They couldn't get the coil in, they used 2 different speculums and had me wiggling about to change the position, she kept saying your vaginal walls are obscuring your cervix and your cervix is very small as though it was my fault. They eventually got it in after half an hour with two of them at it!

I'm so glad you lot are not real! theres no way I'm telling anyone I know IRL any of that.

ETA RMac do you use a dummy?
aww poor you! I feel your pain - they couldn't reach my coil to get it out and I had a stream of doc's and nurses all brought in to have a poke of my bits :o
Caitlyn just sicked up milk... With my boob still in her mouth! Greedy little madam!!
Edgar did that last week I've never had someone throwup on my boob before :rotfl:

Rmac I'm sure she'd fall asleep with a bottle that's what Chris did, Have you asked your GP if they are allowed to prescribe liquid iron in cases like yours? or that reflux drug that boosts supply? or do you need a blood transfusion? surely they need to investigate why your iron isn't increasing after so long? I think you need to put your foot down and get a 2nd opinion :)

Krystal - you mentioned re-useable wipes a while back, have you sorted them?
I spotted these and thought of you, would be pretty easy to just cut up some cheap muslins to make your own :)

Elle, not much you can do while he is so small to be honest, it takes a while for them to be able to stay awake long enough. Plus if he is still being tube fed they know their tummies will get full whether they work at it or not. I used to try changing the boys nappy half way through, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. Make sure they are not tube feeding him before he tries a breast feed or there is no point even trying it. But remember that even just him nuzzling is working toward the target.

    Hi all,
    Firstly Happy belated birthday Sami.

LO came home from nursery yesterday with a massive bite mark on his back. This is about the 6th time he has been bitten and its the same child everytime. I kinda took it to begin with as my sister said it was always happening with my nephew but after this one I think I need to write a letter to them.

I still have a bit of bleeding as well at the moment but hope this will stop soon..... its starting to get to me a bit as I never had this with Henry....

Ooh Dominoes, we had that on Friday as it was 50% off if you spent £30, it was lovely although we have decided that we can do something similar using Aldi and Mr T's.....

Which Suncreams do you use, Nursery uses Soltan but there are loads on offer at the moment and so dont know which to get?
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

Elle, http://www.peenyweenybaby.co.uk is very good, and their range of dummies http://www.peenyweenybaby.co.uk/sess/utn;jsessionid=154a412d7547640/shopdata/index.shopscript

Lu T, you going for a VBAC? I've been told I can, had a vaginal birth with DS1 and an em c section with DS2. Consultant said that if I have to be induced (which is likely) she will only administer one dose of the prostaglandin gel to soften the cervix and then break my waters. Monitored through out and close attention paid to me scar, but she is more than happy for me to have a vaginal birth either with me going into labour on my own or one try of an induction.

Yes, I'm going for a VBAC. Wasn't keen on the idea of induction as I'd read it increased the chances of a rupture, but my consultant says they've got a new 'thing' they use (tablet not gel?) and the results have been great for the last 6 months. He's happy for me to wait as long as I want to as long as me and baby are well. After 40+14 he'll want to see me as a day patient every day, but he assures me I'll def be in labour by 40+21 :eek: It's actually nice to have a consultant who's supportive of you going so far past dates. Apparently he has one of the lowest induction/planned section rates in the area.

Fab, thankyou :) I've been doing a mixture of the top two.. Time to move on down the list, methinks! Can't wait to move back into the flat and be able to try the lying down version - kinda hard to do that in a room with windows on all sides! (feeding in a goldfish bowl, anyone? :o)

Elle - I used to rub Imogen's ear-lobes and gently squeeze her to me to wake her up a bit. Tickling feet is another way to go. Don't give up, he'll get the hang of it sooner rather than later - eh Feelie?!

Thanks for all the compliments on my pics. I love them and, as this is the last time I'm doing this, want to have a record. Good job my friend's a good photographer cos I wouldn't have sat around in my underwear for anyone else :rotfl:

Caz - sounds like things are getting better but I came across these links and wondered if they would be helpful (to you or anyone else).
