sometimes the simplest way is the one you just don't think of :)
I got domino's as a bit of a treat, ate the wedges and chicken but Edgar has been refusing to be parted from my chest ever since so pizza is still in the kitchen along with my cake and OH has gone to bed without thinking to ask if I wanted him to get me some of mine!

    Thanks, I think :D
when do you think I'm no longer 'young'?? I'm 25 next time that's still young, right?

We have all been through the refusing to leave the boobie stage hun - it is so draining but hang in there! Before you know it he will be tweaking your nipple and poking you in the eyes because he is bored whilst feeding!!

25 is young to me :rotfl: I went to see my friend yesterday and she was gutted that she was 32 last Friday....which made me realise that in another 2 months I am 33

Krystal in that case I'll have your TG tickets :rotfl:
Seriously though - you'll be fine! I'm trying to have some "mummy time" every day or every 2 days - even if it's only taking the dog for a walk on my own for 10-20-30 mins :) I know it's different because it's DH looking after her but it gets both her and me used to not being together 24/7 (only 23:45/7 :rotfl:) and DH and I were just talking about the possibility of leaving her with friends to go and see Harry Potter when it comes out on the 17th... We do have a VERY qualified babysitter though ;) (paedeatric nurse who runs the paedeatric ward at a very large hospital!) so I know medically nothing can possibly go wrong :) And let's face it... she knows her way round kids and nappies lol!
Besides you'll get to meet Jeremy, Capt Slow and Hammy (yummy) - you HAVE to go :)

Managed to catch up but can't for the life of me remember what posts I meant to reply to and who said what - *sigh*
My brain is officially mush! I blame a certain madam for not sleeping well last couple of nights! Bless her!

At least I have this week managed to send of a £90+ cheque to the bank, my old mobile to get money for it (works out at £135 after postage in Tesco vouchers - result! + 200 tesco clubcard points :) )and my MILs birthday card.
Tomorrow I really need to look at pet insurance - not happy with the policy for the cats as it's changed (think company I use have changed underwriters grrrr)
    and building and contents insurance...
Now off to look at the Joggler to see if it's worth the hassle - I think it's the only way I'll ever be in control of my diary again!

ETA - not for £149 it ain't! Hohum - guess I'll be buying a posh paper calender like everyone else then ;)

DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's! :)

My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey
  • Oh my lord - don't you start with the making me cry too :o

Bless Poppy - glad she was okay after.

I'm really adoring this stage with Poppy! She understands almost everything you tell her and her language is fab now too. Honestly, it will blow you away when Benjamin grows! :D

    PS: don't cry! :)

And then she was right as rain!. Just as though nothing had happened. No temperature, nothing. Does motion sickness strike randomly?
Yes. And sometimes when you've just stopped too. I vividly remember DS3 throwing up all over someone else's car just as we drew up at our destination once. Before we could get him out, of course.
Oh and I cleaned the carseat with a washing powder/water solution. Is there anything else I should do to make sure that horrid smell is banished for good?
If there's any trace of it on the actual car upholstery, then Febreze worked very well last time we had vomit all over the landing carpet in the early hours, projected by a boy who really should have known better ...

Am I going to have to repeat my theory of the ages of motherhood again? You are a Young Mother for as long as you have Young Children. That's at least until the youngest starts secondary school. Then you regress to being a Teenage Mother. I'm currently a Student Mother, morphing into an Unemployed Mother, because the eldest is threatening to come home post-graduation and not look for a job for a few months while he finishes a few games and sees if he can make any money out of them.

    Blooming well hope so! ;):p

No real joy on the breastfeeding attempts today :( Rhys wasn't interested this morning or this afternoon, too sleepy so it seems. Tonight as soon as he was near me he almost dived for me then panicked cos he couldn't breathe, he'd buried himself so close to me! It didn't last long though before he started dozing off.. Any tips on keeping him awake for longer so we can master this??

It's weighing day tomorrow. He was 1.53kg (3lb 6oz) at birth, 1.65kg (3lb 10oz) for ages and then 1.75kg (3lb 14oz) on Sunday. Hoping to be more than 1.80kg tomorrow so we've cracked the 4lb barrier! :D

Going to raid through my freebies tomorrow to gather together all the bits for the changing bag :) Going to take it and the car seat tomorrow night to prove we've got it so there's no panic on Thursday morning :)

Got a txt from Asda earlier to say my order of snazzy sleepsuits is in :D

Elle I'd say the brighter the better but if I remember rightly Rhys can't do bright lights, so go for tickling and lots of chatter just babble rubbish to him coz soon he'll be telling you to stop speaking rubbish:rotfl::rotfl:
I'm sure Krystal will have some tips to, but how do you feed him at the mo just across your chest? I know he's little but could you try the rugby ball like this. So that hes kinda sittin up IYSWIM.

Just read the link and it actually says it IS good for little babies

I am guessing that the wet flannel approach is not so good for such a teeny tiny...try stroking his cheek, tickling his feet and as scruffy says generally trying to hold his interest (try showing him black and white flash cards - just draw lines on white paper)

Fab, thankyou :) I've been doing a mixture of the top two.. Time to move on down the list, methinks! Can't wait to move back into the flat and be able to try the lying down version - kinda hard to do that in a room with windows on all sides! (feeding in a goldfish bowl, anyone? :o)
