Caz - not sure what the handles are like but you could get an buggy bag thing like everyone had in the 80's/90's http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_933_10751_-1_14605_6081_10001_14605

Lu T - I'm sure I read somewhere that the 'juice' is more effective if administered orally!
Hang on - can't post links yet, but I'm sure it was Babycentre0 -

A quick (1 handed) note on pumping... It is impossile to guage how much milk a baby gets by pumping,... Babies are far more competent at emptying the breast than pumps... In the early days your breasts usually have a large over supply of milk, this is what causes the leaking and engorgement... Eventually the supply evens out to what baby needs and the amount you can express can reduce, this doesn't mean the amount baby is getting is reduced though... Sometimes it can appear this way when baby goes through a 'growth spurt' but all that happens here is baby needs more milk and will feed more for a few days to increase supply to meet their needs... Once they've increased the supply they tend to settle down in their feeding pattern...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... he asked if it made a difference how the 'juice' was administered. Thought he was talking about turkey basters (eww!) but he was actually pitching for a BJ. Told him that wouldn't get it to the appropriate place so that's the end of that :rotfl:Nice try though...
Actually... evidence suggests that works just as well...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Evening all - Hello to the new ladies and congrats on your babies.
We had our third set of needles today - and she seems ok this time. And she's finally in a proper big girls cot, after a semi-successful trip to Ikea this morning. The cot is really nice and was only £28.38 I think :money:. But the reason for going to Ikea was because i'd seen some gorgeous bedding on the website - only to find its been discontinued due to the colours running.
She'd completely filled the moses basket and looked like a big bloater in it - now she looks like a little baby again tucked down the bottom of her massive cot!
Saw a different HV today and got her weighed, 14lb 13oz (18 weeks). HV tried to tell me off for mentioning we'd started with a couple of spoons of babyrice at the weekend! She started to give me a lecture about early weaning causing IBS (anyone heard that one before?). I told her that 'back in the day' when my other two were weaned, it was at 4 months and both of them have lovely healthy bowels!
Searchie - this is the longest i've lasted with breastfeeding. I lasted 4 months with DS - but kind of dried up when I went back to work full time when he was 4 months.
I only lasted about 5 weeks with DD1 - it was too painful with her for some reason and I was constantly feeding for those 5 weeks before I gave up for my sanity.
This time we're up to 4 months, and I'm not due to go back to work (part time) til November when she'll be almost 10 months old. She'll be weaned by then, but i'm thinking i'll still be able to give her her morning and evening feeds - we'll just see how it goes I think.
Lu T - I read somewhere whilst I was pregnant that the 'juice' was more effective if taken by mouth  - I bet it was a man who made that one up! In my 39th week, i TOLD OH that he was doing it whether he liked it or not, as he'd got me into this state, he could help me get it out! Im afraid my OH is another who wasn't comfortable doing the deed with another person present in my tummy! In fact, i've just thought, we've only done it once since - when she was about 8 weeks old! Maybe its because there is someone else in the room, or because he's traumatised by the birth (he stayed up the head end, and it was far from traumatic!). I think i'll have to have words! :rotfl::beer:0 -
angela - Rose is a lovely name... Roo is infact Alexandra Rose K. - Rose for my grandmother - it was her favourite flower and she sadly passed away just before christmas
We'd already decided the name and told everyone of her birth when my father replied to the message telling me that obviously she was late because she was meant to arrive on my grans birthday... Which hadn't even crossed my mind!
