Be very very proud of yourself! Well done you! Although tbh, I think you should be proud of yourself whatever the outcome had been you've really gone above and beyond!
How are you feeling?
I'm alright, apart from anxiety. Not able to go outside at the moment. Pysch has agreed to a home visit in July though, which is good.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
feelie - can you hear yourself giving other people advice? your helping other people through the same roblems you have been through and actually being able to say "I exclusively expressed for 8.5 weeks, so hopefully I can help!" is amazing
if you need a chat about your anxiety... ive been there, i have a few relaxation techniques that might help you
green poo - Danny had green poo until he was fully weaned, the docs, the health visitors, the hospitals and the specialists never found a reason for it...
he was just a green poo kind of guy
cloth nappies - no sorry, i know its the new black, and your supposed to want to do it, but its not for me, ive got enough washing as it is!
hello angela, nice to meet you, im amazed they let you home at only 2 weeks, your Rose must be a real little fighter! how much does she weigh??
did someone say jam kettle? fascinating... im off to google0 -
Hi all, mind if I join in? I was a long time lurker on the preggy thread - moved far too fast to keep up with - and thought I should actually make the effort to join in as I feel like I already pretty much know everyone (I have been reading preg thread since Aug last year)!
I have a 10 week old daughter who is the light of my life and a gorgeous little smiler to boot (although some might say I'm biased!)
dmbw - we have bumgenius cloth nappies and so far have found them to be excellent, especially at night time with an extra bit stuffed in. They were't so good when the wriggler was first born, didn't seem a good fit, but have been using them for the last few weeks without a problem. We're just using up the last of our disposables (used until we were in enough of a routine that I could get some washing on every day), then will be on them full time.
Also Feelinggood, I just wanted to say that I've been reading your posts with interest since you were due around the same time as me (I'm not a stalker or anything!:o) and I am totally in awe of your dedication to BF and to your little man. I BF for four weeks before I just felt I couldn't cope any longer. Please don't think I'm being too forward - I just think it's amazing:T!

I do too :-)
And me! Just about to use them with baby #2 and feeling very MSE about it all! :money: We have a mixture of 'teddy' nappies (they feel like teddy bear fur) from Bambineo and Tots Bots. They dry in a couple of hours so we manage with 12.
Welcome Angela and Sali. Hope your little ones aren't causing you too much worry.
Angela - what a fighter Rose must be! Have you tried Fenugreek? As someone said, Krystal is our resident BF guru (she's a trained counsellor). I'm sure she'll be along with advice soon. And as for expressing, Feelie has been there, done that and got the gold star :T
Sami - seen the multiquote but daren't use it yet!

osAngela, how old is she? When they're tiny they have seventeen squillion growth spurts where they just keep sucking to up your supply (Celia's record was 11 hours with only a 20 minute break!). If she's peeing and pooping you'll have enough milk, and the extra sucking will stimulate more milk. Not being able to get much out after a feed not nexessarily something to worry about as the others have said babies are much more efficient than a breast pump.
Krystal is a brilliant source of information and she has a phone number in her sig for the breastfeeding helpline... hang on I'll see if I can find it... 0300 100 0121
Well i cant multi quote so i'll have to answer you all individually.....she is 5 weeks today. So i would be 36 weeks if she was still inside me.
I have just had a success tho...for the first time in 2 days ive fed her and she settled without having to top her up!!
She is pooing and peeing normally...well actually a lot, probably 10 or so dirty nappies a day xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -

"Milk supply normally varies somewhat throughout the day and over weeks and months."
"Most moms who are nursing full-time are able to pump around 1/2 to 2 ounces total (for both breasts) per pumping session."
"It is very common to have more milk than baby needs in the early weeks, which regulates down to baby's needs over the first few weeks or months."
My supply was about 500ml till week 4, then I followed a scrict plan and managed to boost it to 1000ml.
Chances are your supply is fine, but even if it has decreased, you are likely to be able to build it up.
How many wet/dirty nappies is she having?
Thanks...is that milk supply over a full day....not sure over a day how much ive had but that would also be as well a feeding her too x
Plenty of dirty/ wet nappies, so no problem there xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090
