Trying to type this one handed so excuse any typing errors....Feeding her again and she is definately having problems....not sure if its latching on ( which she is doing but its taking her longer ) or if its staying on...but i think its down to her not sucking enough and my milk has dwindled....DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090

I wish she'd actually like being in the freedom sling I bought so I could at least carry her round with me and do some housework, but alas it would appear no such luck - have tried it a couple of times and she does NOT like it
drat!
How are you putting her in it? It looks quite deep so she might not like not having a good view, also if she's snotty she'll prolly be happier upright. I can't remember how old they need to be before you can carry them upright in one though (I'd check on my ring sling instructions but a. I don't know where they are and b. I have a baby pinning me to the chair so I did know where they were I couldn't get them!)
Have you got a sling meet nearby? It might be worth going along and having a play with some slings to see if she likes any others better?Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

osAngela, how old is she? When they're tiny they have seventeen squillion growth spurts where they just keep sucking to up your supply (Celia's record was 11 hours with only a 20 minute break!). If she's peeing and pooping you'll have enough milk, and the extra sucking will stimulate more milk. Not being able to get much out after a feed not nexessarily something to worry about as the others have said babies are much more efficient than a breast pump.
Krystal is a brilliant source of information and she has a phone number in her sig for the breastfeeding helpline... hang on I'll see if I can find it... 0300 100 0121Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

I was expressing whilst she was in hospital and could easily get 150ml...now im lucky to get 20 to 40 today...yesterday it was only 10 to 20 ml!!!
I've got a fussy baby so can't reply well, but here are a few links:

Growth spurts:

"Milk supply normally varies somewhat throughout the day and over weeks and months."
"Most moms who are nursing full-time are able to pump around 1/2 to 2 ounces total (for both breasts) per pumping session."
"It is very common to have more milk than baby needs in the early weeks, which regulates down to baby's needs over the first few weeks or months."
My supply was about 500ml till week 4, then I followed a scrict plan and managed to boost it to 1000ml.
Chances are your supply is fine, but even if it has decreased, you are likely to be able to build it up.
How many wet/dirty nappies is she having?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
