ooh sami forgot to say earlier but speaking as a ex hair/beauty therapist dont do henna for the love of god - it sounds very nice to have a all natural hair colour but you just cant ever dye it again until it grows out! its hard to dye over for even a professional hairdresser, its a much stronger dye than a chemical dye so if you think you might want to change your hair colour ever again then it is to be avoided! it would look lovely over highlights though...

    Hi

Can I join you? I've moved over from the pregnany thread. I had Rose on 12th May and havent posted much since as its all been a bit of a whirlwind since!!!

Rose was born at 31 weeks and was in special care. She came on leaps and bounds and was released when she was 2 weeks. She managed to come off the tube feeding and breast feed well. Everthing has been going well but we seem to be having problems feeding at the moment and im now expressing too.

Problem is im not getting as much as i was and not sure what the problem is x

Actually one of my ex's who's also one of my best mates actually asked me if I wanted him to ask him what was wrong with him when I told him :rotfl: Or if he realised what he was missing out on  Then again my ex certainly never complained about them ;) just my DH has never really been keen on them :p

angela - if your milk supply is not increasing try and BF again... even if she only latches on for a moment it might help stimulate the milk flow :) Pumping is great (been doing it myself as Roo not only had VERY bad oral thrush, I had nipple thrush and then Roo got the sniffles... all adding up to VERY sore nipples) but you will probably find that it's tough getting enough milk... I try - no matter how sore - to get Roo on the boobs at least once a day - this seems to have kept the flow going pretty well! Yesterday morning I got 9 fl oz first thing... :)

Krystal will be along shortly - she's our BF guru :D

How ofter are you pumping, and for how long? Do you pump in the night? Whst pump do you use? How much do you get at each session?

I exclusively expressed for 8.5 weeks, so hopefully I can help!

I'll try to explain it as best i can.

Everything was going great...She was feeding alot, every two hours from start of one feed to start of the next. By the time i'd fed her I was only getting an hour or so sleep but still she seemed to be feeding well/ putting on weight etc.

Then yesterday, all of a sudden when i tried to feed her, she seemed to be getting really frustrated. She was feeding almost all day and i gave in and gave her a bottle of EBM ( that I bought home from hospital ) and she settled straight away. So I was then worried that i wasnt producing enought milk and tried to express but only got about 10/20 ml...Not sure why its happend.

So last night i was still trying her at the breast, then having to give her a bottle and then still expressing as to keep my supply up!!

Have had the HV out today and she's coming back tomorrow but i am still trying to feed her myself each feed and then top her up with EBM ( so glad i was able to express loads whilst she was in speial care and have a good supply in the freezer).

Just a bit worried as to why its happened. I have been trying to watch her feed more closely today and to be honest I think shes becoming lazy at points throughout the feed and only playing and therefore my boobs think she's not needing enough but im not sure if she is and just not sucking as strong at some times...

Sorry for the essay!!! Why is it all so hard at times???

    Thanks Feely...

Crossed post...I am still feeding her but expressing after every feed. Yes im expressing during the night and i have a Medela Swing pump.

I was expressing whilst she was in hospital and could easily get 150ml...now im lucky to get 20 to 40 today...yesterday it was only 10 to 20 ml!!!

Tried him with a bottle last night but he refused it, so its boobies all the way now.

Be very very proud of yourself! Well done you! Although tbh, I think you should be proud of yourself whatever the outcome had been you've really gone above and beyond!

    How are you feeling?
