The first thing Imogen said this morning was, "Has the baby arrived yet?". We told her the baby was coming after her party but didn't bank on her thinking it would be immediately after (guess we could have predicted that if we thought hard enough). Cue me trying to explain that we don't know when the baby's coming and that it will be a lovely surprise. She seemed a bit confused that we don't know quite when it will happen, but not sure there's anything else we can say to explain?

Lu, would it work to say that the baby lets you know when s/he's ready to breathe in the big world, and then your body will help him/her come out?

It's kinda true in most cases! I'm guessing an explanation of lung surfactant might be a bit advanced at the mo?! ;)

Nope haven't been drinking orange juice etc so not sure what it is... *sigh* she nodded off for 5 minutes whilst laid on my chest after some snack feeding and is now wide awake again in her basket after yes... you gussed it... ANOTHER nappy! Good job I got a good deal with the Boots glitch!
I wish she'd actually like being in the freedom sling I bought so I could at least carry her round with me and do some housework, but alas it would appear no such luck - have tried it a couple of times and she does NOT like it :( drat!

    Thanks for advice about boobies.

Is it too early for teething? We've had a few fussy days and he has a small white gump on his gum. Looks just like a tooth poking through, but he is only 2 months!

Tine, was she not at the GP for a bit of a cold? When mine got/get colds and are very snotty they get the runs. Mind and get some nappy rash cream in just in case (I use it for DS2 if he has the runs, try to prevent the nappy rash before it starts).

Think she's more confused about the fact that we don't actually know when the baby's going to put in an appearance. Will just keep saying, "Hopefully soon," and leave it at that. We usually count down with so many sleeps, but that's impossible.

Caz - baby has bought her a 'big sister' t-shirt, a Dora mini library, a Build A Bear (which we'll take her to choose herself) and a card with stickers - which will be her fave! DH's taking her to buy baby a present at some point but not just yet as we don't want her to think it's happening tomorrow.

The consultant did make a point of telling DH in very plain terms that while it's 50 % his fault I'm in this situation, it will be all his fault if I don't go into labour as he is the only one that can help :rotfl::rotfl: I've also been telling him that, but he doesn't seem so keen . Think I'll be enforcing a "lights out and think of England" policy from tonight. I didn't even get a 'special' birthday pressie, so might claim that too!!!

Caz - fab news! You really deserve some luck.

Oh, can someone post the linky to the birth stories thread please? I'm dying to read Sami's but have no chance of going back and finding the one she posted. TIA
