    That's great news feelie :D

When you say you are tender on one side, is it the nipple or the breast itself? And if it is the breast, is the whole breast or just one patch? It could be that Toby feeding directly has upped your supply so you have more milk at the moment... This will settle down as he feeds effectively, or if it's one patch then it could be a blocked duct... Next time he's latched on and feeding, gently smooth the tender patch downwards towards your nipple, you will be massaging the blockage out...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Its the whole breast. He has been suckling almost constantly and I'm leaking alot between feeds. Its on the side with slower letdown, so maybe related to that?

well done feelie! your both doing so well!
when i get sore boobs lying in a hot bath with a flannel over them helps the heat soothes it and i find it easier to massage and release any bocked ducts or just overfullness

  • scruffy - I want one :D

Now browsing the mothercare site  it always makes my laptop go slow though.

We are having our first non-infacol day today to see how we go...Benjamin has been fine so far but his tummy keeps growling which means sooner or later we need a big burp before it starts to hurt.

Drive to the airport and long-term parking, or take a cab equipped with a baby seat? About the same cost either way (maybe a bit more driving after paying for petrol for my car), being driven is less hassle but having control of your own times and not having to arrange a car with baby seat from the airport on return is less hassle.... I am torn!

Bruno - cost is one thing. Driving home from the airport after a 17hr flight with jet-lag is quite another. I'd go for the cab and baby seat every time.

Feelie - that's great news about Toby and his feeding (not about you being sore though. Good on you for persevering.

    Welcome dmbw

The first thing Imogen said this morning was, "Has the baby arrived yet?". We told her the baby was coming after her party but didn't bank on her thinking it would be immediately after (guess we could have predicted that if we thought hard enough). Cue me trying to explain that we don't know when the baby's coming and that it will be a lovely surprise. She seemed a bit confused that we don't know quite when it will happen, but not sure there's anything else we can say to explain?

Re SIDS - apparently there was some new research which showed that the reason babies did better when in parent's room for 6 months+ is about your breathing regulating theirs. We will try to keep new LO with us, but Imogen was moved at around 14 weeks cos she was too big for her moses basket and snored like an elephant. We all slept better once she was in her own room, even though the night feeds were a bit less convenient.

Caz - that Luna is sooooo a bargain. Go for it. Not sure about the Quinny though. What does it do that your other prams don't? £150 feels like less of a bargain. Good luck speaking to the relationship people. I hope you can work something out if that's what you want. Big hugs.

Toby feeding directly from you will be sending loads of signals to make milk, especially if he's suckling a lot... This will be causing the leaking in between feeds and the full feeling, you body is basically reacting the way it would when he was new born if he'd of fed directly from you then... Carry on as you are, feeding him on demand and your supply will settle down to meet his needs (probably right before he has a growth spurt and has to feed lots to bring your supply up lol)
