  • Evening all - hi newbies :) I think everyone else has answered the things I was going to answer, but I do just want to add: As well as getting fenugreek in tablets, you can also get it frozen in asda, and it goes lovely in curry. You might not want curry 24/7 though, so tablets might be a better plan ;)

Erin also went into her cot this week but more for my sanity as charlie liked to look in the basket and i was scared he pulled it over! she seems to be happy enough and loves to watch her mobile!

lu t what pram have u bought im lost lol!!

3 its your baby and do what u think is right stuff the HV they are useless anyway:P

    hello newbies xx
What's for you won't go past you
  • Sali - I don't have a problem with my MIL, she respects my choices (thankfully) and if anything she spends too much time asking me how I want things done - you have 3 kids and 9 grandkids for gods sake woman!! Having said that, we had an unusual wedding and I told her then that I was not a normal woman and if she thought I was going to conform then we would end up fighting :p

I have had friends who have had trouble though and I think the answer is that you need to just say whats on your mind, firmly, but without entering a conversation. 'We don't do that' and 'Things have moved on' sound like stock phrases!!

Also try - 'As long as I am happy, hubby is happy and the baby is happy, does it really matter' - I would love to see ANY granny argue with that one!

Sorry can't help as don't have a MIL. She died when DD was a toddler.

Bit of a mixed day today. Had a lovely day at the farm with school today and the weather stayed bright and sunny-ish so much better than yesterday's thunder and lightning and torrential rainfall. Got home though and the fish was dead, much to DD's dismay. Poor thing had somehow jumped out of the tank and was dead on the worktop :(

OH took Tom to be weighed and he finally reached 20lb :T, actually 20lb 1oz. Don't now if the HV was being sarcastic though as she'd said, Well done, he's finally the size of a 9 month old (He's actually 17 months on Thursday) He's dropped from the 2nd centile to the 0.4th centile though. Can't think how as he eats endlessly!
  • SB - didn't want to say on FB but it was this bit I was struggling with:
Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
    Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki
Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele
And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway
She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay

The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song

That'll be because it makes no bl00dy sense :D

Oh dear, can I eat my humble pie now?! :o

I always thought it was 'the calypso so bright'! :rotfl:

Yeah, like that makes more sense - I'll tell Black Lace when I next see them! :D

    xx
  • There is something strange going on...I think I may have put someone on ignore (by mistake!!)

I can see that 2 people have thanked some of SB's posts but when I click to see who I can only see 3. Who is the other one?

    Is it Sami??

    I hope you haven't blocked me :cry::p

Sali - I have a better relationship with my MIL since having babies - She finally realised there was no getting rid of me at that point ;) I have had a big bust up with her in the past over parenting issues (her parenting of my OH)so now we have come to a happy agreement where she understands that I will ask for advice if and when I need it and at all other times I'm not interested in her opinion. It works well for us but took about 5 years to get to that point.
I personally don't let things slide, If I have an issue with someone I'll tell them, I have enough of my own guilt to cope with without someone else adding to it :)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.
