Caz have a huge hug hun - I'll reply to your PM when I get back home from the BF cafe but hang in there
You're doing great and no-one would expect you to manage everything even without your hubby being a twerp to be honest... so stop having a go at yourself
You're only human and you've got a tiny newborn to mind too - give yourself a huge pat on the back and remember you're doing a great job with 5 kids
And baby is probably being crabby because she can sense you're stressed - Roo can pick up on my moods so I am sure it's the same with yours

hi guys!!
thought i would ask all you mummies for some advice.
have realised that due to the layout of our house (front door opens straight into the living room and stairs) a carrycot/pram option may not be the right one for us. has anyone used the pushchairs that can be flat and are suitable from birth? and what did you think??
thinking now of getting the Britax Vigour 4'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
our front door opens into the front room too...
Dannys pram is up and next to me as i type, not ideal... but i have nowhere else to put it!
(unless i get the new house mwaaaaah ha ha haaa)0 -
jilly we have a car seat/buggy travel system and as seth seems to get a bit hot scrunched up in the car seat we have used the layflat buggy, he seems fine in it now but i think as a newborn he wouldnt have liked it and would have needed the enclosed-ness for protection IYSWIM. maybe it would be different with a parent facing one though as ours isnt?
if theres one thing i do know though, you dont need to spend a huge amount - ours was £135 mothercare own brand, in a sale down from £165 and at the mummy and baby group i went to the other day the mums with posh expensive prams were jealous of its manoeverability and how easy it was to fold up!Mummy to

thanks emlou (seth looks gorgeous btw)
thats why i've always looked at the carrycot/pushchair option. i dont like seeing babies in those carseta/frames as they look uncomfortable to me. i liked the carrycot option. hubby says if need be i can use the back door as it is a double patio into the kitchen but i dont want to have to use the backdoor everytime we go out!!
i like the mothercare ones as well and they are great value for money. think i will do a little more looking at them. tbh i've wanted a red buggy/pram and kept saying no to mothercare as thet all seem to be beige/black and i wanted a bright one. but i guess i can always use bright blankets and toys instead.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

Weezl did you work out how to tighten the car seat???Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
Good luck with houses people!
Re buggies, we have a from birth and not parent facing one, and it is fab. One thing I would say is that if the one you have doesn't come with a foot muff then buy a generic one to use - Far easier than trying to stop baby from kicking off blankets!
I need to ask some advice now - I made some mashed carrot and potato mixture for Izzy a while back with no problems, but when I've tried it again the texture goes all rubbery when I thaw it out. I can't work out what I'm doing differently - any ideas?Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009
