    Hi,

We've got Sky multi-room at the moment, which we are intending to keep, that plays to our TV in the lounge and to a TV in a bedroom. We have also just bought a new TV to go in another room and tried various digi senders, but the reception on all were not good.

Could we get Freesat to feed off our sky dish when we still have a sky subscription? All we really want the second TV for is CBeebies etc!

Not sure if it's important but we don't have an aerial.

    Thanks for reading

Are you referring to Freesat from Sky, or Freesat?
The aerial is irrelevant, both these services come via satellite, not aerial.

Humax HD Freesat Receiver is available ( refurbished ) but mine was actually brand new from Humax Direct. for £89 plus. delivery.

One more question from me on this perticular model.

if i purchase this digi box, do i require anything else. when i put this item in my 'basket' to buy i see there are other items to buy which is optional, there is a cable of somesort at a cost of £22, but is there cables that attach that i already have by taking out my exsisting sky tv box.
All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

Nothing extra needed, mine came with an HDMI Cable in the box.

Choice of boxes for Freesat HD is very easy - there are only 2! There's a Humax HD box, and an HDR plus, which can record. I have the HDR and would highly recommend it, especially since it's down to £250, less than a year's Sky HD subscription. As above, the only way to get ITVHD officially is through FreesatHD. Channel4HD is bound to follow, but I think there's an exclusivity contract with Sky that has to be completed first.

Only 2? There are numerous receivers available to receive Freesat. I would suggest Technomate at about £80 and in anonether reply I have posted a link to an HD receiver for £89 on special offer.

But neither of the 2 that you suggest are Freesat Receivers, strictly speaking.

They, and many other makes, receive all the Freesat channels. What else is required? What is your definition of a Freesat receiver?

I was referring to normal freesat. I was wondering if the dish had to be 'unused' ie not already receiving sky to be able to be used by Freesat as well.

The signal will come via your dish that is your aerial. Yes you can use that dish for Freesat from Sky

One that is listed on the Freesat site, and as such is approved by Freesat.
