Sorry where did I say immigration checks?
Here:So 2 hours to land then get through immigration get through customs then make your way to security get through security and then walk to the plane, genius ive seen q's of an hour at immigration before, ive stopped people for a lot longer than that and airport security can take ages to get through too.
Benjus,
I never wanted to get into a drawn out argument about Ryanair:rolleyes:
All I said was that for me, their method of marketing is verging on the dishonest, their arrival airports are usually rubbish, their customer service is absolutely appaling.
I have used Pikeyair on several occasions, and i will probably have to use them at some point in the future.
My point is that if you look around you can get a very similar deal with a full service carrier for buttons extra. Why wouldn't anyone not go for that?
On the broader topic I am amazed that people stand up and defend what is a shoddy service. I don't want to hear this nonsense about people being "thick" and therefore not knowing how to work the Ryanair system.
They should be jumping through OUR hoops as the customer NOT the other way round.0 -
It says you have to go through immigration not have immigration checks, which is a world of difference if you actually knew what the heck you were talking about, and the bottom line is, regardless of your missinformation you do have to go through immigration coming into the UK.
The reason people stick up for Ryanair is simple, even some one such as yourself will be able to understand it, they are cheap and efficent at what they do, they may not have the best inflight service and they sure as hell dont have the best customer service, but personally speaking, I have taken many flights with them and never paid more than £10 one way, and never had any major delays and never actually arrived at my destination late, and my experience is backed up by many many people on this forum.
Simple answer, as already stated, if you dont like them dont fly with them, that just makes more room on the flights for those people who do want to fly with them.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Hit and miss i guess, but to be honest theyve been fine for me.0
-
First flight in 1987 Luton - Dublin return price £100
Last (and dozens of other flights at this price) Stansted to Wroclaw return £0
If other people don't like flying with them, that's just fine with me :rolleyes:0 -
Bargains there if you search i suppose.0

They are renowned for landing in the !!!!! end of nowhere. You can't possibly argue against that.
Let's look at Poland, shall we?
Poznan Airport is about 7km from the city centre.
Wroclaw Airport is 10km from the city centre.
Lodz Airport is 6km from the city centre.
Gdansk Airport is 10km from the city centre and less than 25km to anywhere in the Tri-city area.
Rzeszow Airport is 10km from the city centre.
All of these are Ryanair destinations to major cities of over 0.5 million people - and they fly to the middle of nowhere? Doesn't seem like it to me...Hmmm, immigration checks within the EU? That doesn't happen...
But don't suppose intelligence is a requirement to sit at one of those little desks all day eh
Immigration checks can also happen on a random basis - Poland is well known for hauling random Schengen passengers aside in airports/train stations, and I wouldn't be surprised if many other EU countries do the same. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
for those of you that use an Electron card do you have it from the Post Office is this the most hassle free place? have a feeling maybe you can get from Halifax too? I bank with them. Is an electron card free? Do you just top it up when you think you are about to book a flight with Ryannair and is this easy to do? Can you just use it in a shop if you wanted to as well so money didnt necessarily get stuck on it?
There has been discussion on this I know but I havent quite got to grips need a point by point explanation!0 -

I understand that the Post Office pre-paid card will work as Visa Electron but I've never used it.
I have a Halifax Easycash account which comes with an Electron card. Unfortunateyly I cannot do an instant online transfer from my main account (Nationwide) so I just keep enough money in the Halifax account to cover a typical Ryanair purchase. If your main account is with Halifax then they MAY support instant transfers between Halifax accounts if you open a separate Easycash account.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Let's see who is more punctual?

Is that BA I see in 23rd place well behind Ryanair, Easyjet and nearly everyone else?
And who carries more passengers?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_airlines_in_Europe
I agree that BA and other full service airlines do offer a higher standard of customer service than the low cost carriers and if the price is similar (other things such as flight times, airport distance etc. being equal) I will generally choose a full service airline.
BA are probably fine if you live in London, but for many of us they are not even an option (they abandoned us here in Northern Ireland years ago). For so many of us the so-called low cost carriers opened up a variety of destinations and sometimes there are serious bargains to be had.
At the end of the day, it is all about choice. Without Easyjet, Ryanair etc. we as travellers would be much worse off, and not just financially.0 -

Time to stop flying with these chancers. If you get absolutely everything right and don't forget your boarding ticket, forget to check in online, don't take anything on board with you, book your baggage in advance, Ryanair is a tiny bit cheaper. But then they land you miles from where you want to be.So you now have the transport costs and personal time lost.
The comparisons are with BA. With BA you get complimentary food and drink on board choice of seats and earn BA miles.
I think everyone is now starting to see through O'Leary's lies.
Time to use consumer power and show them how we want to be treated by NOT flying with them.
It continues......
I love Ryanair. I get cheap flights and think, yes, I will go there then. I don't think the airports they fly to are too far away from the destinations. the airports they fly from are convenient to me. Some of the passengers could be a little quieter and speak in more soothing tones and not try to elbow me out of the way in the charge for the plane... the on board Pringles could be cheaper and they could stop cheap publicity stunts targeting overweight people. I have only twice flown with someone else - once to Vietnam, loved the free food and drink - and once to Paris - great sandwich - but were they better in any other way? Not as I noticed.
Also they make a profit and I don't have to toss and turn at night wondering if they will still be in business by the date I fly.
I'd almost go so far as to say I wouldn't fly with anyone else.0
