Times Article showing the TRUE costs of Ryanair

Ryanair are fine by me when flying out to Murcia but would never book them again if doing connecting flights .
Air Asia our version of Ryanair getting flack at present for changing and cancelling flights. people getting stranded and missing connections.0 -
Wow, what a fantastic article.
Now I know that one company can be more or less expensive than another, depending on the circumstances.
And this is news?
I guess we'll have an article next about how some things are cheaper in Asda than they are in Tesco.0 -
How very true that BA are in a different league,..... for losing luggage. Remember the fiasco that the opening of Terminal 5 turned out to be? A national embarrassment.
That was for about the first two weeks it was a shambles. All change now.
Have you been through it recently? I go through T5 all the time and it is fantastic.
As for the comment about Ryanair flying "millions more" passengers,
are you sure about that?
Anyhoo, if people are willing to pay to treated as badly as cattle and accept all the poor customer service(does Pikeyair actually do customer service?) that's their perogative. But as a human being who likes to arrive somewhere near my destination without having to watch out for cons in Ts and cs, I'll stick to the major airlines as much as possible.
And have you seen some of the stewardesses on Ryanair, like bears in skirts!!!
I am amazed at the defence of Pikeyair.
Even if they are cheaper, Price paid is relative to service/product received. And they are inferior on just about every level compared to the majors IMHO.0 -

Really?0 -

There should have been 2 HOURS in between the 2 flights if Pikeyair could've kept to schedule.
So 2 hours to land then get through immigration get through customs then make your way to security get through security and then walk to the plane, genius ive seen q's of an hour at immigration before, ive stopped people for a lot longer than that and airport security can take ages to get through too.
But as previously stated their holiday insurance should have covered any missed flights due to delays.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Donald, you're talking Trump mate. If you don't like Ryanair then just book someone else, you're not going to convince people like me who've travelled with them plenty of times that they're more expensive than BA. If you book correctly then Ryanair are dirt cheap - FACT.
If you don't book correctly then you're probably a friend of yours, or an Express reader.
I can also say, without checking, that Ryanair clearly say that they are a 'point to point' airline and can't be held responsible for missing any connections. As long as you can read you should have no problems with Ryanair.
I agree that the online check-in fee is a bit of a scam though.0 -

Hmmm, immigration checks within the EU? That doesn't happen...
But don't suppose intelligence is a requirement to sit at one of those little desks all day eh:rolleyes:
As for "the girls of Ryanair" calandar I suppose out of a massive staff any company would be able to pick a dozen or so non-bears.
I think Ryanair realised they had an issue with the beauty "challenges" of their staff and released pictures of the only 12 girls they have that don't have to grease up before they squeeze between the aisles:D
On the Pikeyair flights I've been on, they CERTAINLY weren't on that calandar.0 -

I flew to Bremen and there were very thorough immigration checks in place but only for arrivals from the UK and Marrakech. Other EU citizens had free passage.0 -

Sorry where did I say immigration checks? However you need to queue to get through immigration in the first place, assuming the airport you fly into does'nt have ABC gates, even then they are often as slow and glitchy as actually seeing one of the immigration officers. The only exception to these checks are if you are flying in from Eire or a domestic destination. Of course you being as well travelled as you claim would know all about such things. And as previously stated I have seen these queues run to 45 mins+, regardles of arriving from an eu/non eu state.
As far as the intelligence of immigration officers goes I cant comment as I dont work for them per se.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

The UK is not part of the Schengen agreement, so any flights between the UK and the rest of the EU (apart from the Republic of Ireland) should be subject to passing through immigration.
The main exception to this seems to be some Spanish airports, where the immigration officers are obviosuly too busy having their siesta to check passports of arrivals from the UK, so they just leave the passport control booths open.
On the broader topic, I don't understand why those that dislike Ryanair feel so obliged to try to convince everyone that their opinion is correct... I've never had a bad experience with Ryanair, and I for one would prefer to pay £5 return per person (as I did the other weekend to Sardinia) and spend more of my budget on nice accommodation and food.
If I were in a situation where the difference between Ryanair's fare and BA's was small, I would probably go for BA - but whenever I've compared them BA has been a lot more than the budget carriers.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
