FAST 4 CONNECTION DIARY 2

  • I signed up for Fast4 a week ago. Was unable to connect at all this afternoon. Luckily I had not cancelled my Freeserve Anytime account so used that. It was then I found an email to say that I had been on for longer than I should. I and my family do use the internet a great deal, 10+ hours a day, but I thought unlimited access meant just that, after all I have used Freeserve (Wanadoo) for 3 years at least with no problems.
Also it seems the only way to contact them is via the dreaded 0870 number.
I intend writing to them, to trading standards and as a last resort threaten them with the small claims court.
Will post again to say what happens.
Not happy at all with this, would not reccomend them!!!

It does seem that FAST4 say one thing (unlimited 24/7) and do another. It would appear that their treatment of high users is heavy handed and the fact that they give no warning is just not good enough. I must admit that I am only a medium user, but would be extremely upset if I was just cut off without as much as a warning, but then how can they if they advertise their service as unlimited. Fast 4, you will start to lose customers by the bucket load !!!

They had a complaint upheld against them by the Advertising Standards Authority last year.

There have been a few enquiries about Fast 4 service again, so thought I would bring this "Diary" back up. Service has been A1 of late, absolutely no problems. https://www.fast4.net

Hi there, sorry to hear this. Have you tried e-mailing them? If you like send me your sign-up name and I will send them an e-mail from the members area. I never had a problem, did they say when you would be on line ? You can also phone them and speak to customer services on 0870 225 1055. The technical supposrt line is 50p per minute (0906 304 0904) so try e-mailing and the other number first. Hope you get it sorted, as I am sure you will. In the meantime, if you have not got an ISP and are signed up to 1899, send me a pm and I will give you a dial-up numberwhich should only cost you 3p per session.

The problem may be that you do not have a standard BT residential line. Apparently Fast4 only accept customers who have a BT line, obviously because that is the company they rent the access from.
