I am on dial up at 6.99 a month,Ihave telephoned them a little while ago and they quoted forty something to connect and some more money for modem, I asked if she could do any better but she said no!! Maybe I will try again. We still use 18866 and are on BT together option 1, we do not want to have the phone line from Fast 4 so maybe they will not be interested?0

OAP - Signing up for Freetalk with Fast 4 does not mean you transfer your line, it actually stays with BT and you continue to pay them the line rental. What happens is that your outgoing calls are automatically routed through Freetalk and you pay them for calls. This does not stop you using 1899/18866 though."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

Oh thank you, I thought they took over the whole thing, maybe I will have another go and see if we can get a better deal, it would be nice to be on broadband as it is quicker I believe, sometimes it takes three or four goes to get on the net, I presume this is because Fast 4 are a small company and everyone has to wait their turn, or something like that, thanks again oap ps a friend of mine jumped in very quickly with talk talk but we cannot get the broadband free here as they are not on the exchange, and we do not know whether they ever will be as we are out in the sticks so to speak, so I am waiting and not signing up to anything like that yet.0

Oh dear, Fast4/V21 have done it again! This month all those who took the FreeTalk package to get the £2pm discount on broadband will find that they have, without notice, been charged a minimum of £2 for FreeTalk.
Not only have they not notified customers of this change but some parts of their website still proclaim no minimum monthly charge!
There are further details in a discussion in the members support forum http://www.v21.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8978&PN=1 including the information that they will refund £2 to customers who complain.
No minimum contract period so you can leave if you want to...0 -
