oap wrote:Oh many many thanks to you all, very helpful indeed, well I think then I shall go for the dial up and as you say, eventually, go to broadband, I do not do the news thing and am not on the internet for hours and hours, and I do not download any music etc, so maybe the dial up is for me at present, I was not sure how much it would cost to get a modem and it is £47 to get a broadband connection from BT. I have just had a new modem as a big flash of lightning before Christmas took out my modem and some ofmy neighbours modems as well. Best wishes to you all for New Year will let you know how I get on. I take it dial up is £6.99 and you do not have to sign up for the free talk? cheers, oap (old age pensioner!!)"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

I am so glad I didn't go for the "fantastic price" offered by E7even. It was the years payment up front that I was concerned about and now, reading about all the problems that E7 customers are having, I'm quite pleased to still be on the old "steam dial-up" with Fast 4. I WILL move one day !!!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

Well i thought I had done a post on here thanking everyone for their help, but it seems not to be there, or I have put it on the wrong thread!!!
So thanks a lot for all the help and advice, I have gone to Fast 4 and it is working very well, it does take about four goes before it connects sometimes during the day, but that is no problem. Gone with credit card, but will keep on checking to make sure all is ok. Best wishes, oap ps thanks to Edinburglass for helping me change my e mail address on here!!!0 -
Hello everyone, I had an e mail today saying I would be debited £6.99 on 24 January, however, I first signed up with them on 3 January, dial up, so I would have thought it should not be debited until 3 February, tried to ring them but not there at weekend, so I have e mailed them, has anybody else had this problem, or do they debit everyone on the same day? If so, I would have thought I would have been charged pro rata! Any advice would be appreciated, thank you. oap0

This is a common and also too regular problem with F4.
It happened to me and also some of my relatives.
What you need to do is go to the members area of F4 and log in,then send a secure message saying that your payment date has altered and should be the 3rd of Feb.
They will answer in a day or two, making their usual excuses, apologise and correct your payment date, sometimes giving you a few extra days.

Thank you for replying Alared, it is so nice on this forum that someone always tries to help and makes one feel less isolated in these situations, well I did go into members, put my password etc, in and have sent them an e mail telling them that it should be 3 Feb and not 24 Jan, only ten days I know, but its cheeky of them to say the least. I will await their reply with interest, but there is not much time to stop it. Its the 23 on Monday, so they will have to be quick!! Hmmmmmmmm. Will keep you posted, otherwise it is working very well, and as said before during the day takes a few goes sometimes before connecting, but that is no problem to me. Best wishes and thanks again, oap0

It won`t matter whether they stop it or not,it will just count as your 3rd Feb payment and if you check in the members area for your March payment,on past form, once F4 correct it,they will probably put in at about 5th March.
I don`t know if they`re "at it" but this has been talked about on these forums before and also their parent company,V21,who also have a habit of altering the date of payment.0 -
OK Alared thanks, will keep on looking to see what happens, best wishes , oap0

Hi again Alared, sorry to be a nuisance, but have looked at all items on members ,signed in etc, all ok, but cannot find anywhere where you can actually see your payment date, from what you say, it seems you can, please could you tell me what you click on, have tried everything in left hand column, but nothing to say about payments, thanks, oap0
