I too got this letter - I was on Home Max (£24pm) and its going up to £32.

HOWEVER DONT JUMP SHIP JUST YET CHECK WHAT OTHER SERVICEs YOU CAN GET PROPERLY!

    Home Max offers me..
UNLIMITED 8mb (6.7 avrg) Broadband.. no throttling or usage limits or peak time restrictions like Plusnet for example.
Free calls on line 2 and Evening and Weekend calls on line 1
    Free livebox

Orange also included line rental so make shure this is included in the price of others (£11.50)

I have just had a look around and not one other company can actually offer me the same for less! - A lot of providers use branded wholesale in some ares (Orange does in mine.. my exchange is all BTWholesale) Even If I went with a similar pack to BT its £40pm for example.

Also to people who complain about speeds if your exchange is wholesale you will get exactly the same problem from another provider. Look on Samknows to see if your exchange has any LUU services.

WOW Thanks that's great. Included calls to mobiles at the weekend which is a bonus too.

Does it have free VOIP Calls via the router?
  • nope thats the only diffrence and you can get £20 cashback if you go via quidco
  • After recieveing the dreaded letter, I decided I'd had enough and I am looking to change my internet provider. At the moment I have my phone and internet from Orange, but am looking to move to O2 for internet and BT for the phoneline. My questionn is, should I transfer the phoneline before I transfer the internet? Or get the MAC code from Orange then transfer the phoneline? Cheers
  • orange recommended to me that i get mac code then move the line and internet
  • I signed up with O2 via quidco already had an O2 mobile hence I was entitled to £7.34 per month. With £70 cash back which I just got paid this month. it works out to about £18.08 for the whole year, thats £1.50 per month. Yippee!!!!

orange does throttle you if you us over their unlimited downlaod quota and they give you 2 days notice when they do this. so you cannot even change your habit. they throttle for 3 months and if you do it again you will be throttled for ever.

after the announcement of a hike of 30% I'm looking for another provider as well. may be thats exactly what they want. Lots of people to leave so they can provide a " better" service for whats left???
