All is well in London. 18866 and 1899 are brilliant. The savings...... ;D'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

...all I can say is that they used to be 1p a minute to a Koran Mobile. Then they have gone up from 1p to 2p sometimes 3p. Now they are on 5 p min without letting anyone know. No announcements nothing, just a price increase of 500 %....
Doesn't look like such a bargain any longer...

If you mean Korean Mobile, then that is bloody cheap still - according to Martin's International call checker Ratebuster and Simply Fone are 4 p / minute but generally costs are much higher elsewhere.
18866 and 1899 are obviously still bargains - just use the call checker as you need !To infinity and beyond!0 -
They also let you know the price of the call in advance of it being connected unlike many other companies that do not announce prices - so I do not think your posting is at all fair IMHOTo infinity and beyond!0

I use 18866 from a Hull payphone - had some problems a while ago but currently OK.
Dont see why someone is complaining about failing to notify of cost of calls - you can set up 18866 and, presumably, 1899 to tell you the cost of calls immediately after you dial the number - what other company does that?
I agree that some prices have gone up but other have come down. Unlike other companies who fail to respond quickly to their wholesale price changes 18866 and 1889 do so almost immediately. I know it can be confusing but that is why they have the announcement on every call (if you wish to use it).
Most people cannot remember the price of calls even when prices do not change or do not bother to read the price literature they receive. I try to remember the price of calling certain destinations but don't always remember correctly - at least with 18866 (and 18899?) you can abort the call before being connected if you don't want to pay their prices and then use someone else to make your call.0 -
fantastic service, hear in glasgow , the wife loves it . ;D ;D ;D0

I'm still finding probs in (North) London... at the moment it's about 30 - 40% of the time I get a busy signal... and usually when I redial I get it again! This does tend to undermine the attraction of these numbers... any 1899/18866 executives PLEEEESE take note!! (although yr service is brilliant/stupendous when it works).

We're finding that the line quality during the day can be appalling - so bad that we're stopping using the service.0
